Morning everyone ,looks like a strong possibility of more rain today, we had a drop during the night as well .

If it proves to be a wet/ damp day then I will designate today being a 'housework ' day. Ashamed to say that the hoover and duster have taken 2nd and 3rd place to the garden lately.
    Have a great day!

      Morning! (Or Midday!) to all,

Late up today as had a bad insomnia night...gone 3am til I nodded off with help of a bit of Night Nurse. :frown:

Outside and it is mild, no breeze, dark and cloudy. It’s eerily quiet today but I love it. Heavy rain forecast all afternoon-hope it stays away.

Have just lifted a load of doronicum and geums out the front border to divide and pot up near the greenhouse.

Got some exciting works planned for the front garden in the next few weeks to make it more private (shut out the horror neighbours).

      Have a good day y’all!:spinning:

        Good day everyone
I know, I know, I am very spotty with appearances. Been busy times lately with family etc. It is definitely fall here. No frost as yet but thank you for the reminder @Snorky85 to put the heater on.

Oh oh, gotta go - have to go to the hospital - grandson is there with pancreatic issues. See you later ... :)

He's being admitted to the hospital. It is a very new facility less than 5 minutes from my home and I have been there with other people umpteen times since it opened. These people have always tested, diagnosed, and cured everybody and I know they won't let me down this time.
I bought a 5 day parking pass that my son and the rest of the family can pass around and use to tag team visit. We try to keep the number visiting at one time to a max of two people and only in short segments with lots of time in between so this pass will save lots of money :)

Thank you for your good wishes. :)

@wiseowl please send some of that rain this way. Our guessers keep breaking their promise to send free water!

It is setting up to be a very nice sunny day. I decided to move the potting soil (25 x 20l bags and 1 x50l) out of one of the greenhouses this morning as the floor keeps getting flooded and I suspected the leak was under this column. I'm not supposed to lift much for a few weeks so I did it before the kettle boiled for my first cuppa and that way it doesn't count :heehee: Now I can play with the low flow hosing to get the problem resolved and not break the rules :)

I think I'll play about with the wood oven outside today. I am messing about with gluten free recipes and have concocted my own gluten free flour mix and would like to try a few recipes with it. Too expensive during the week and during the day to bake with electricity so I might just go this route. Hopefully I'll get a nice collection of successful recipes for grandson number 3 to enjoy.:fingers crossed:

Haven't heard back from the hospital/kids about grandson number 1. He may have to have his gall bladder removed which is a giant relief to what was originally suspected-pancreas trouble. Apparently there might be perforations in the organ - never heard of this one - so being young, only 21, he'll recover quickly if they have to yank it out.;)

I hope everyone else has as good day a as the one I'm planning to have. Oh, and I have to be up and out extremely early and over to pre-op tomorrow so I may not show up for roll call tomorrow. So exciting so get this done with

                          Play and play safe!

                            Evening all,

We've been out all day enjoying the sunshine and theatre in the evening. The play was interesting as it was an adaptation of Chekhov's Uncle Vanya written by Alan Ayckbourn.

@CanadianLori look up Molly Cake. It works well with gluten free flour. It's also sugar free as it uses so much fruit.

The BBC food website has a good variety of gluten free recipes.

                            Have a good night :)

Morning all! Rained in the night but the wind out there now is gradually drying it up. Wont need to water the garden today.

Today has started better than yesterday. Yesterday my favourite fish, Bendy (named on account of his calcium deficiency (-previous owners poor quality food!) had gone to the fishy crystal clear nordic fjord in the sky. He was a lovely golden orf. Two winters ago (our first year of living here and inheriting the fish) i had to take him out the pond and put him in to his own tub in the heated greenhouse. The poor mite was getting stuck on the surface because of his bendy problems and weak swim bladder. Anyway, he survived and had an extra 2 years. RIP Bendy-I will miss watching you in the pond.

Got lots and lots of dividing still to do. Also need to find time to aerate the lawn and scarify and top dress it. Lots to do but feels like time before winter sets in is running out fast! Where has this year gone?!
