@noisette47 - that is sad to hear that you have lost friends, and even sadder to hear the 'hate Europe or hate European' bit; for clarity, I don't hate Europe - quite the contrary - it is the EU that I despise.
If it were still just a trading bloc as it was when we joined, I wouldn't gee my ginger.

This thread is descending to new lows. I wish to report this post. Infowars, the link @Fat Controller has posted to is a far right American fake news site. I think this link should be removed. It is beneath a moderator on G C. See InfoWars - Wikipedia

I am not aware of the site - it is a link that I have been passed elsewhere. Your Wikipedia link is news to me, and if you notice I have posted the link stating what I am reading elsewhere - I am NOT claiming it to be factual, but allowing others to read it and make their own minds up; do feel free to report me, the link or otherwise however.

Maybe you should check your links more carefully.

I read it as an article that was posted elsewhere, and stated that in my post. It contained nothing that was offensive, it contained a narrative that is quite believable, although I am making no claim as to whether it is factual or not.

Because by calling an election, whilst it being the only long-term solution, could well lead us to crashing out by default - why do you think BJ is egging the opposing MPs to take that step?

I can concur to those thoughts and experiences. People either think that expats will be the only people affected *wrong!* or that we are totally unaffected - boy! So *wrong!*!
Yes, we will be affected - our freedom of movement is totally threatened. Dual nationality is a possible partial solution for some of us, but not in every EU country, because, despite some people’s view of life elsewhere in the EU, it is made up of individual countries, just like the UK, with independent and separate laws. Also, dual nationality - the desperate “last stand” solution that many of us are having to consider - can cause further complications, but I won’t bore you with those life-changing facts....
Edited to add something that stopped me going to sleep last night:
Not only expats (many of us simply doing what lovely Mr Tebbit told us, and “getting on our bike” to find a job, when our specialist job-market dried up in the UK), but there have been upsetting happenings in the UK too. I have a relative married to an EU citizen, and another married to a BRITISH citizen, whose parents came to the UK as part of the larger Windrush movement. Both families, living and working in the UK, have been made to feel unwelcome since the referendum. Not only by people on the street, not that that is acceptable, but also by their work colleagues! One family is now looking to leave the UK, it has become so unpleasant....

Well, I think Noisette was expressing her point of view, as others have done, quite freely.
Most expats were not actually allowed to express their views in the Referendum - for what it’s worth. The Government decided not to push through the expansion to voting rights that would have allowed over 1 million British, tax-paying citizens, to vote...

I agree, but perhaps it was read in the wrong context. I think most members of the Gang do understand the stress Brexit poses for ex-pats but Brexiteers probably put the interests and independence of the UK first.

I'm going to risk getting banned here, but I've had enough now.

@Redwing , perhaps you should start doing all your " like to report this post" business etc by using the correct channels.

It's beginning to get a bit tedious and looks like you have a vendetta going against FC.

I have used the correct channels and this is the first time I have said “I wish to report this post”. I do not have a vendetta against anyone but I do object to links to far right wing propaganda websites. They have no place on this forum.

Unless you have a different GC page presentation, Redwing, the way to report a post is to click on the Report icon at the bottom of the page of FC's posts. Merely stating that you wish to report this post is not enough......you have to move your finger down and press on "Report". If you have any problems doing that then please contact Admin for further assistance.:cat-kittyandsmiley::coffee:

@ARMANDII - I believe that @Redwing has chosen to report my post, and there should be a report waiting in the Reports section for your attention. I have not, and will not, venture into there to action that report for obvious reasons.

Folks, can I please ask that we now refrain discussing reports that have been made on this thread, as it is not fair to either @Redwing or myself - @Redwing has the right to a fair hearing from the staff team without my input, and I have the right for any and all subsequent actions decided from that to remain confidential, just as they would for any other member.

Well, I watched Boris in action in Parliament today and I'm glad to say he gave no quarter. He said what he thought i.e: that he thought the Supreme Court was wrong in their decision, as do several "Learned People" I know. He spoke directly using words that we speak and not the vague Parliament language where MPs speak a thousand words and, basically, have said nothing and I think it was a bit of a Shock for MP's to have answers in real, blunt, English and they were unable to reply in he same way. The SNP were there shouting insults, threatening to have a Referendum to leave the UK, etc, etc, Corbyn was shouting to Boris "Resign!, Resign!" and I'm sure I could hear some to the Labour MP's whispering :lolpt:"You too, You too":hate-shocked::dunno::heehee:
