Awww @shiney :grphg:...you must be jiggered ..ey but all that horse poo has got to be worth it;)

I've done nothing in the garden apart from pick what looks like the last of the toms and a solitary Cue and a few Shiney Hybrid Chilli's..I'm desperate to get the lawns cut but there's standing water here so no chance at the mo..:frown:

      Hi,

Me take you off topic shiney; now you mention it I'm good at off topic. Yes the song sure takes me back to when songs were heard once and remembered for life unlike the modern noise. I noticed a Citroen 2CV in the video opening shots; Bron and I owned two of these tin snails and enjoyed them.

I hope you had a bickie with your cuppa shiney; you deserved one. It must be two years ago I was kindly offered free of charge as much well rotted horse manure as I wanted; later I wished I'd never seen the stuff with the amount grass it created and it's still troublesome.

You need an amphibious petrol mower like mine Lolimac.

      Kind regards, Colin.

Shiney is not the normal as most of us know. :heehee: MOST households have biccies of some sort, be they sugar free/diabetic or like @CanadianLori with secret ingredients. Even my goodself when near-on anorexic ate biccies!

Warm sunshine and blue skies got me, on my knees, out into the garden to take out some more Couch grass from the borders while kneeling on the narrow central path. I got another bucket of Couch roots, but discovered some large bulbs, which I think were Allium, and I put them in another bucket. I cleared an area in which Peonies "Duchess de Nemours, Shirley Temple, and Immaculee are growing, there's also some Lupins, Teasels, Perennial Poppies in the same area so it needed some delicate Trowel work and time to make sure no roots were damaged. I also took the opportunity to relabel the Peonies and short canes to mark their positions. I also dug up several Gladioli and resited them in the walk around border.
After that I worked on the very shady border underneath the Acer Brilliantissimum clearing out the small amount of Couch grass and reworking the soil. There's a lot of Pink flowered Cyclamen in that border along with various Ferns that seem to like the deep shade. Next month it will not be so shady as I intend to remove a 8' long fan shaped branch that overhangs that border and the Stone seat by it.
I've still got a lot of Tulips and Daffs to plant, but that will be done later this week, as the weather forecast is good with Sunshine, dry and blue skies.:cat-kittyandsmiley::coffee:

                Hi,

                What no bickies shiney; here's my take on it;

I don't think I'd live any longer cutting certain foods out but it sure would feel like it.

You've sure been busy ARMANDII; however hard we graft in our gardens there's always another job needs doing urgently. :phew:

                Kind regards; Colin.

It rained heavily all day so I only watered a little in the green houses. Yesterday I had done some clearing out of annuals and trimming of my cannabis plants and stored the mess leftover in brown bags under cover so I am a lucky lady to have done that before the downpours. I discovered today that a friend's son has been diagnosed with cancer and is now undergoing chemotherapy so I'm going to get some edibles made for him to help with the nausea. My timing is worrying me. I'm usually operating under Murphy's law and being prepared is weird :th scifD36:

                          Hi,

If that's a picture of you shiney I reckon you're pretty normal; makes a refreshing change from lots of tattoos and lumps of metal sticking out of skin which is the current trend.

I did so much work with the hoe yesterday I wasn't saying Hoe; Hoe; Hoe in bed last night as I lay on my painful arm. Still gardening is a pleasure.

                          Have a nice day everyone.

                          Kind regards, Colin.

All I've done is give my Peppers a Tomato feed and this got my wondering is it worth growing Peppers. I have one plant with 3 nice size Peppers that's taken all season to grow...and my local greengrocer is selling 3 Peppers for £1.25

Well, due to the showers that have defined the weather today, and my impatience to pot on the new arrived plants, I retreated to the Kitchen and covered the Kitchen table with a plastic dustsheet. I made a bucketful of a mixture of compost, sand, and grit placed that on the table and started potting on 4 Peonies, 3 Geums, 4 Kniphofia, a Banana plant, a Chain Fern, Astrantia, Rudbeckia, 3 Thalictrum, and a Clematis..........showers?, what showers?:heehee: And not a drop of compost on the floor!
