Following the death of my mother-in-law, we have brought her prayer plant (calathea) back to Belgium with us. It seems to be very healthy, and even has a flower spike...
...but I’ve never had a prayer plant before, and it’s really important to me that I look after it well.

First question - does it need potting on? (Hence the photos with pot)

Second question - watering and feeding. I’m assuming that feeding does not happen over the winter months?

The leaves are very responsive to light. Should the plant be rotated 90 degrees each day, to encourage even growth?

All help and advice gratefully received:)

I recently picked up the "prayer plant" that I and my ex wife bought for my late mother about 35 years ago, she kept it in it's original pot in the hallway and only ever watered it. I will pot it on in the spring and keep it as a constant reminder of Mum!

That’s what I am hoping for from this plant - a reminder of my mother-in-law, the wonderful mother to me that she was....

I have a prayer plant. I call it Deuteronomy. I learned not to overwater and not to put it in direct sun.
