@Victoria is that one of the larger types of strelitzia I see on the far right of the pictures?

Thank you guys, it has been a labour of love for over 20 years. Definitely Blood, Sweat and Tears. :phew:

@Verdun, small, basically everything you can see barring patios. I have lots of An Algarve Garden threads below on Similar Threads from latter years. Guesstimate 140 square metres. It is only to the front of the cottage.

@pete, yes, it is S nicolai ... waiting for those big birds to appear.

Water feature arrived, pics to follow.

Following on from the great success I am having with Ipomoea Nil Split Second, today I got the Blue Picotee in the post so will plant some this evening. We are under high heat warnings so I don't know how they will do.

Wow, don't know how I managed to miss this amazing thread! You've done such a fantastic job Victoria, it's inspiring to see how much interest you've managed to 'pack' into a fairly small garden (mine is about the same size) and what a wonderful transformation from when you first moved there! Lovely collection of pots too, all nice and harmonious. :) I'm off to enjoy the previous "Algarve Garden" threads now!

              More September photos.

Another Ipomoea. I planted two more species and they are up and romping away.

Jacaranda seed pods, green from this year, brown from last. There are SO many so we are pleased we had the other cut down. Our gardener had to cancel yesterday due to much-needed and appreciated rain but next Saturday will have zillions of seedlings to pick out everywhere!

I've got a small Jacaranda coming along, from seed this year.
Thought I'd give it another go, after a 10 yr break.

Just shows how, depending on where we are in the world, we covet different plants, and I can see how, if it grows everywhere, it could be a pest, but I still like the foliage, getting it to flower here is another matter.

A couple of pics of small pots just before dusk last night ...

                Front Patio 7 Oct 19.jpg Dance Floor2 7 Oct 19.jpg

Shrub in large pot at back is a Thevetia peruviana (there is another in matching pot on the right side of patio). The old bonsai Bougainvillea is starting to bloom and next to it is T'other Half;s Avocado he did from a stone earlier in the year. We are trying to get the Mandevilla to stay put hiding the water sprayer. I'm doing trailing Geraniums in the strawberry pot

My first Double Petunia Pirouette ...

Thank you Philip. It is certainly a labour of love. Will see about getting more photos later in the week as everything is coming into bloom.

Wish I could grow Brugs like that, mine was just starting to flower well when the weather changed a month ago, it limped along for most of Oct but the weather has been so abysmal you can't enjoy the flowers.
Hacked it back yesterday and put it into hibernation in the garage for the next 5 months.

Those double petunias are gorgeous Victoria!

Looking at your photos I feel as though I was there in the sunshine (or perhaps in the shade of the patio, cool drink in hand!) with the scent of the flowers wafting past. Thank you for sharing.
