We're as bad/mad as each other, Perki!!:loll::lunapic 130165696578242 5: I think that is the last I will get this year, as I said, I've tried not to buy Alliums of the same colour but more of the ones that differ in shape and colour. We'll have to show some pics next year of the results in our gardens:heehee:
      But, all the same, .................

        Evening all,

I've been away for a few days so have come back to a lot of windfalls. I've picked up about 50 - 60 lbs of apples and started cooking them. All the hanging baskets are now in the recycle bins and I've cleared up the patio beneath them.

Apart from filling the bird feeders I haven't done anything else in the garden.

@Perki these are gorgeous. I still want some allium but if I order them now, is it too late to out them in the ground or okay as long as the ground can be worked?

After saying I wasn't going out, the sun showed, so I did get out there. I cleared the rest of the raised bed, harvested the sprouts, drained and stowed the water hoses, and swept off the deck. It is supposed to start raining again tomorrow so I am glad I got my behind in motion!

Alliums can be planted well into December as long as you can work the ground. I haven't planted one bulb in the garden yet, I never get round to it till mid/late November

A bit late but I've planted 300 Spring bulbs in one of the lawns today. Not an easy job when continually hitting rock. I was told there were bulbs in the garden when we bought our house two years ago but apart from a few daffodils - nothing. If they survive I'm looking forward to seeing them come up next Spring. :)

The winter flowering clematis-I’m hoping the flowers open up a little more-they just seem to hang down and not show off their pretty colour.

i know it’s an ever green and needs to be in the ground but with a pending house move I’m not putting anymore plants in the ground until we know what’s going on.

Not much done as I hoped but got the odd thing down , the sparrows postponed me they always wondering around in the GH probably looking for spiders or just messing around . Got one of the pots planted up with some bulbs . Lifted some pelargoniums and took lots of cutting . Went round to mums and filled her brown bin up with sticks etc.

Bulb ordered arrived today from anglia bulbs  You can get free bulbs with every ordered but didn't fancy any of the freebies on offer so didn't bother . Opened the parcel and I got some free allium silver spring bulbs upload_2019-11-6_18-27-32.gif worth about £9-10 :)fired an email off saying how please i am with the free bulbs and the ones I ordered :dbgrtmb:.

Only got 3 boxes of new bulbs plus nearly all of last years to replant

Spent a couple of hours raking leaves but I didn't get to finish as neighbours stopped for a chat. I just hope we don't get any wind for a couple of days as there's already one huge pile out there.

Blimey its rained cats and dogs today, didn't even want to leave the home but made it to the GH . Got some bulbs planted up in pots - hyacinths - iris - scilla peruviana and a amarcrinium. Also relegated the crinium out of the nice yorkshire pot very pot bound but I am sure the amarcrinium will enjoy its pot. Tidied the pelargoniums in the GH and brough them inside over winter .

57506452-1C50-4901-ACA7-8825B1EB3293.jpeg Just planning on what I need to do in the garden over the next weekend as I’ve just done a walk round and it is very crisp out there! Brrr! Frosty and misty!

looking at my cold frame and wondering if its location will keep it slightly warmer as its near the house and walls, or whether it’d be worth just lining it with a bit of bubble wrap? I’ve got some good rooted cuttings (potted on) in there now and I don’t want to risk losing them. Any thoughts?
                            9D8E08D9-B06B-45B7-B797-CD50FC0AA3AE.jpeg

Also, (maybe @shiney can help) I bought these plants at shineyland and Ive forgot their name-red foliage and yellow flowers)
                            D487C1AD-F1F9-4DF1-A296-181B69C6A2D0.jpeg

I wasnt sure whether to cut them down now or leave the old growth on to protect the new growth over winter. Hmm.

And I’ve inhertied my mums brown turkey fig tree that was growing in a tub at my mums as she’s moving in with my grandma and there is no room there. All the leaves have dropped-should i move that round the side of the house (near the cold frame) for a bit of winter protection or will it be ok where it is and more exposed? Any thoughts?

I’m also planning on moving my new phormiums (still in pots due to pending house move) into the heated greenhouse. Or will they be ok round the side of the house too?! I’m anticipating the greenhouse getting full rather quickly!!

@Snorky85 Lysimachia. It tough as old boots and you can cut the old stuff down. Keep an eye on it in the Spring as it likes to spread. You can cut it out if it's becoming invasive quite easily. Use a spade to cut your line around the plant and then fork it out. It repots easily.
