Still frosty but the sun is coming up. I'll wait for it to warm up before venturing out. I'm a fair weather gardener. :heehee:

Sunny start yet again but not for long I fear. We have a heavy rain warning in place from 11am today. Our lane is still flooded in places from the earlier run off from the hills so it's definitely set to get worse later. We've also had a couple of quite major roads leading into town closed due to flooding this week..dread to think what the rush hour was like!!
Temps got down to -2 last night but today it's a lot milder with a high of 8C and a low of 5C tonight.

Off for a quick couple of hours in the garden before the rain arrives. Have a good day.:)

Precipitation is 99%....doesn't look like we are going to escape it.
On the plus side it does make leaf clearing easier, we are in a bit of a wind tunnel at times and there is nothing more annoying than gathering up a big pile of leaves only to have a sudden gust of wind disperse them back around the garden!:censored:

              Hi,

Blackie's brother Frosty here this morning so we've all got white cars.

              upload_2019-11-9_9-4-20.png

Once again the BBC weather forecasters are having a laugh; Blackie doesn't do "light" and Sunday is forecast bright periods; these must be between the downpours. I've plenty of interesting hobbies to keep me from being bored. :yahoo:

              Kind regards, Colin.

Yes, I agree with that, Shiney, her family must be devastated, and even one death in such weather is one death too many so I reckon the thoughts of the GC Gang will be with her family. Unfortunately, Climate change, in my opinion, will bring more extreme weather and we will need to be aware that we will need to change with it.

When I opened the Kitchen door this morning I was greeted by dull, grey skies with no real frost, but it still felt bone chillingly cold. Water in the Bird Baths were frozen as the temperature was exactly 32f, although that didn't stop Jenny the Cat making an extensive patrol of the garden. During the night the temperature didn't drop below 31f and now it has risen to 38f, although we still have those cold grey skies, with a pressure reading of 985hpa. The doors are all shut, the House is nice and warm, the Cat's on the Sofa and I've got a Mug of hot Tea making plans of the garden ready for Spring.........and that's how it's going to be for the day:dunno::heehee:

Well the rain has arrived, but nevertheless I did manage to get quite a bit done in the garden. Going to settle myself in the greenhouse now as there is plenty to do in there as well.:)

I grew up in west Cheshire (although it wasn't called it then:)). It was just Cheshire. I lived in Chester and it was always considered the posh part of the county. I can't remember much snow but plenty of fog:rolleyespink:

Hi alana, well, economics, bureaucracy and politics have split Cheshire into West Cheshire and East Cheshire now, with the River Weaver being the division line ibetween the two. But's it's the same beautifully wooded and fielded country as it always was and I love it.:love30::wub2::cat-kittyandsmiley::coffee:

We are not that far from Cheshire. Chester is about 20 miles east of us.
