Do you like snow @Jiffy? If so then ' that's nice' but if not then ...:yikes:!!!!

I'm going crazy as it's grey and wet now , hate being stuck indoors, not even nice enough for a damp walk either. The wind is definitely a chilly one so a bit too nippy to be in the greenhouse as well.:sad::sad:

It's not cold here in East Yorkshire but I can't remember the last time we had such a wet October/November...March /April yes but not now..Still I count my blessings it's only ankle deep outside and not inside:phew:

It's 8C outside at the moment so not that cold really ,but we are in a bit of a wind tunnel and I think that makes the temperature seem cooler than it actually is.....well that's my theory....excuse... call it what you like ;):heehee:

But true we are much luckier than some folk :dbgrtmb:

Yes definitely, I just feel so claustrophobic in winter.

I miss not leaving all our big windows open at night too as I love laying in bed listening to the breeze and rustling nightlife.

Why does winter seem sooooo long yet summer so very short.....life is unfair at times.

Oh well I think I'll raid the fudge out now....need something sweet to cheer me up.

                Anyone want a piece?:)

                              Hi,

We keep our windows closed Upsy whilst we listen to Blackie doing his thing the year round; summer's are usually cancelled here through lack of interest because they are so rare. I've just scoffed two chocolates; a small bar of Moser Roth 85% dark cocoa and two Garibaldi biscuits; I'm in mourning for the workshop; it's been too dire here to get off my backside; 7C doesn't sound too bad but Gale gives a real chill factor; last year I made and installed our new front porch including making the door; knowing Gale and Blackie would be only too pleased to attack it I made it to closes tolerances; this morning the bottom of the door was just sticking on the threshold so I've planed a bit of to give more clearance then applied a coat of water based high quality paint; job sorted.

                              Kind regards, Colin.

                              New porch_0002.JPG

Porch completed and fully installed; it's made a huge difference to keeping our hallway warm and a bonus is we now don't lock this door the porch is perfect to receive parcel deliveries; the front of our bungalow though suffers extremes of weather usually with Blackie and Gale trying to join us in our front room.

Yes porches definitely make a big difference, when hubs drew up our house plans that was one of the first things we agreed on. We have cupboards in it for shoes and coats plus a hanging space for damp stuff. :dbgrtmb:
