Sounds like your day is a packed one!

Are you having the family over for Christmas dinner around your new table?

Yes, I'm not sure how many of us at this point. For sure we will be 13 or 15. Luckily the table is wide enough to put two small ones at the ends :)

Just got back from the ferrying to hospital appointments and will be going back out the door in a few minutes to pick up a few things and then later go to see my friends at the pub for an hour. There's a high top table at the pub where all the old boys who are regulars hang out. I can tell you, that sitting looks like a scene from the last supper, except them having pints in their hands … :heehee:

Had appointment with hospital cardiologist, following an echocardiogram a few days ago. Very nice man. Professor John Chambers. A lot of info about him on the net. What a relief. Yes my aorter valve is showing signs of wear but he was satisfied. Next appointment six months.
Next main appointment is with urology surgery 19th. Been here and done this before.

I did a hospital run, then a visit to one of the people I look after (traffic in town was awful), had a haircut, went shopping whilst in town, stopped on the road to lay flat four A board road signs that said the road further along was closed as they have been left there since they fixed the bridge two weeks ago, then helped Mrs Shiney go out and collect a load of ivy flower heads for the Christmas wreath workshop she is running on Sunday. :phew:

I bought some shoes with a 2" heel. I'm practically an amazon wearing them!

OMG - I tried them on before sewing in the waist band and thank goodness I did. I was swimming in them. I picked the size I usually wear and being a McCalls/USA pattern, I thought all would be well. They must have "upsized" these patterns. Lots of adjusting to do - like about 6 or 7" around the middle :yikes:

Received advice that the new table is arriving today. Got my tool box at hand to get it sorted the minute it comes through the door. And the best part is that the delivery (between 11 and 2) is the same time frame as my clients are picking up today so I've got things to do whilst waiting

Then I go shopping. Need to get a few supplies in before the granddaughters land here.

p.s. @shiney my pepper plant, Mikey, was buggy. That is why he was starting to look straggly. Neem oil, wait a few hours, rinse. and will repeat - and I think I have a touch of Cruella in me - as the neem oil worked, I picked off diseases leaves and viewed them through my tiny microscope and observed the death throes - so rewarding... evil Lori... :thud:

Not sure Mike, they are a waxy type that don't break up when cooked, well that's what the write-up says. Last year my Pentland Javelin were rubbish.

I seem to remember when working the plot with my dad. We used to grow, Aran Pilot & Aran Banner, Pentland Crown, King Edwards and whatever the local greengrocer saved for us. Experience taught Mum that when it came to cooking spuds, names were of little value. Mum was born one year and one day after dad, 3.7.1986 & 4.7.1897. I will continue my comment onto the. In the kitchen thread.
Good luck John. Here's to a bumper crop.

Since Wednesday to Friday I've been putting up the Christmas decorations.

20191206_172239.jpg close up of the ornaments. It was very funny when i put the white lights on the tree and turned them on they looked like a very pale blue and i thought that i put the wrong ones on and started looking for the right ones then realised that they were the white ones. :heehee:

On the landing used cotton wool for the snow, very difficult to get off the carpet afterwards.
