And to think our teachers are striking because they do not want more than 26 students per classroom and the province wanted to put it up to 28. They also don't want any of this online learning. Guess they fear being replaced by a $500 computer.

      Well, I know I'm going back a long way:biggrin:
But in my day the whole class faced the front and got taught all together.

I find it strange that these days they appear to have the pupils huddled around separate tables in groups, they appear to be only getting attention from the teacher for some of the time, as the teacher goes from group to group, looks like hard work for the teacher and lots of time for the pupils to just talk or sit around doing nothing.

        Hi,

If only Trigger were still alive; I reckon he would have made a better PM than the lot now on offer.

        Kind regards, Colin.

Regarding class sizes. My school report indicates there ere 50 in my class. As Pete says. We all sat facing the front. An experienced teacher could by glancing around the class, be able to discern anyone appearing to be lacking understanding, so help was given.

Perhaps some method behind the smaller groups idea, may be to encourage pupils to debate more among themselves.

We had over 40 in our classes and the teacher was able to see all of us. I remember there being a blackboard duty list. As everything was written on the blackboard in chalk it then had to be rubbed out when the board was full (we had to copy everything on paper) and blackboard monitor of the day had to do it as the teacher didn't want to get covered in chalk dust. The piece of chalk was also used for throwing at any pupil that got out of line!

Oh lord above, I’m so blinking sick of this darn election! How is that that so many people cannot see that Corbyn couldn’t run a jumble sale let alone the country!
Look at class sizes as you were above...maximum of 30 in a class, my class numbers were never more than 20 sometimes as low as 16...how is he going to achieve this...well he’s not is he? It’s all cow muck... How much more tax are we going to have to pay? Soon I will have to go to work pay all of my salary straight to the government so they can give me some pocket money! Most working people in this country are already struggling to make ends meet we cannot take anymore money from the lower income families, nor can we take anymore from the higher earners...they will all leave the country. Then there’s middle Britain, can can they pay more? All that will happen is an increase in Poverty. Look at Corbyns ideas about inheritance tax...I mean really??..I don’t think I’m going to inherit anything but good lord anyone who’s lucky enough to be left something from their family shouldn’t have their pants ripped off because of it...that’s outrageous.
Now what I’m finding really difficult is that so many people are backing Corbyn, so many people are saying they aren’t going to vote....WHAT???? this is quite possibly one of, if not the most important vote of our lifetime & your not voting??? GGGGAAAAAHHHH .
I’ve only picked on a few points...I could be here all day, but I will spare you my frustrations .
Time to lighten the mood & share with you some of my jokes...

I agree; he'll bankrupt us and the country and the only ones that will benefit, as per, are the elite and rich. The very same that JC wants to get tough on. The man is delusional

I think she must have something on Jezza to have stayed in position for so long. No-one that inept could stay otherwise, even with him as boss. This waiting for the election is such a painful process and bojo just will not get his head out his butt. Echoes of May's electioneering from my point of view
