I bought a quart of the concentrate a few years ago, use it sparingly and still have 1/2 left. And that, after sharing some.

I like killex too. Broad leaf weapon. And again on limited areas.

I think the ban is because of all of the commercial enterprises using roundup extensively and obviously, the people making tha applications got repeated strong doses and are having unpleasant and deadly payback. Sad but anything in excess is deadly.

I think I will get another bottle before it gets banned over the border. One more should last me until I can't tell the difference between a weed and a friend :)

I don't know about that Mike but it wouldn't surprise me. Margarine and toothpaste contain a form of plastic, so who knows what else we are swallowing.

Check these out carefully (as some crafty ebay sellers show 5L containers when actually selling much smaller quantities).

5L GALLUP XL PROFESSIONAL STRENGTH GLYPHOSATE 360g/L TOTAL WEED KILLER | eBay

5L GALLUP XL PROFESSIONAL STRENGTH GLYPHOSATE 360g/L TOTAL WEED KILLER | eBay

5L GLYFER 360g GLYPHOSATE PROFESSIONAL STRENGTH WeedKiller + FREE Gloves & Pot | eBay

NON HAZARDOUS CLINIC UP 5L WEEDKILLER NEW VERSION OF CLINIC ACE | eBay

I dilute my 360g/L gylphosate down to shop strength 120g/L, using an old Wilko glyphosate concentrate bottle (complete with measuring cap) to keep it in, making it much easier to measure out when using.

Well as far as we know - we don't Pete. It's anybody's guess what goes into our food and drink without us knowing.

The December edition of The Garden says that the RHS will cease selling Glyphosate containing weedkillers from the 1st Jan 2020.

I would have expected the RHS to have stopped selling weedkillers containing glysophate before now.

Agree the RHS know how to charge.

GLYSOPHATE online by the gallon....dilute it as per instructions and add a squirt of washing up liquid per litre...advice for the detergent was given to me by the head gardener at Barnsley House in the Cotswolds in1995 as it allows the chemical to remain adhered to the target after the water solution evaporates. My 1\4 acre patch of bindweed was cleared in two seasons.
Regarding RHS..Pay the fee and you to will become an expert??

In the old days weed killers did not have adjuvants that today’s herbicides include. Even domestic roundup has them so there is little need for adding a wetting agent like detergents. It’s often banded around including the use of Diesel.
If you suffer poor performance it’s either down to incorrect mixture rate, over application, incorrect timing of application or hard water.
Adding detergent also means that the herbicide is not broken down as intended and that’s bad for wildlife as it will sit longer on both plants and soil as you are attempting to create a residue effect. It will also carry the herbicide into the water chain easier.
This is why you have approved adjuvants that can be mixed, not just to improve performance but to also maintain safe use to limit environment effects.

A word of warning IF Glypho is banned on UK, as it was for domestic use here in 2019. Monsanto and other producers re-packaged the alternative products in identical containers and boxes with minimal information about the (in) active ingredient. They've even used the 'Round-Up' name. Pelargonic acid is totally ineffective, so read the small print carefully and don't waste your money!
