In Torfaen it was only the Brexit Party which prevented the Conservatives from getting in for the first time.

Is this something to do with Ruth Davidson's threat to go skinny dipping in Loch Ness?

Brexit barrier on M20 motorway to be dismantled

          And about bloody time too.

Its been there ever since this lot started and its going to take three weeks to get rid of it, I'm sure a bulldozer could shift that load of rubbish much faster than that.

I can think of somewhere, but it wouldn't be very pleasant for the person concerned.

We're getting close to the destination we've been talking, arguing backwards and forwards, for nearly 4 years, where the UK formally leaves the EU. I was thinking that, after the party on the 1 February, we might bring this Thread to an end and start an new Thread entltled "After Brexit" or something like that. Any thoughts?????:love30::coffee:

Well, to me, I'm not sure Brexit will be actually done, its only the beginning of Brexit, not the end.

Agreed, pete, but the 31st January is where the UK will formally leave the EU. There's going to be plenty of action after the 1 February arrives and trading talks start with Boris stating we will leave at the end of the year with an agreement or not while the EU is going back to it's old stalling, barrier building, pressure placing tactics that it has used for the last 4 years. But it will be a new phase in Brexit where 99% of the UK public, remainers or not, will have accepted the fact that we will have formally left the EU and are now into a polite swords drawn discussion that has a stated deadline of 12 months.:coffee:

My impression is that the EU/Brussels will make things as difficult as possible but I also know they are up against a superior group of problem solvers. Those in control in Brussels have probably let their arrogance become their achilles heel.

I cheered when Boris got the power he needs. Even though I'm 3,000 miles away, in another country and have no business commenting, I am extremely proud that the stifling power the EU has exercised will be a thing of the past.

We all have to get along but there are too many organizations becoming "Shelobs"- sucking the life out of countries and coddling corruption. The UN comes to mind. A civilian aircraft full of Canadians shot down and everyone says, oops, my bad?

                      Sorry for the rant.

But I am thrilled and will be watching your part of the world change for the good :)

Well, up here in North Wales we managed to drain most of the swap, with one exception - and he lost a massive majority - just about got his seat back by the skin of his teeth.

My previous MP openly stated that if he lost his seat because of his stance on Brexit - then he takes some comfort from the fact that he upheld his principles.

Labour trying to delay Brexit by amending the withdrawal bill - they haven't learnt their lesson.

                          Go Boris go.
