Apparently a car crash is planned for Vancouver Island next week some time.

Any thoughts?

 

Why did they decide to try to dump themselves on us? She's from the US, they should go there!

Or maybe because the US won't burden themselves with any security costs.

 

Looks quite nice there, think I might go and live there also, I'm sure immigration will let me do that.

@pete Vancouver has very mild weather compared to the rest of us here. And it is mostly owned by people from China. They've had to impose huge taxes on properties that are not occupied by owners because of this issue. There are also many towns taken over and unless you are fluent in Chinese, you can't run for a seat. It is also the province that has the highest percentage of "greenies". Really two faced since they don't need to heat their homes 75% of the year as with everything east of them.

One thing though, there's lots of wild territory north of Vancouver. If you go out walking in the forest, you just make sure whoever you go with can't run as fast as you. Survival tactics in bear country

So the only difference for them from home is the local accents. Mild weather, mansions shoulder to shoulder...

I really hope Harry and Meghan don't land up here but if they do, thats a good stretch (2,300k) of country away from me

 

The island is beautiful! My daughter makes many visits there and sends me pictures. She's not keen on the royals making a life there, she thinks they will attract to many tourists which in turn will spoil it.

Possibly because as Pete says it's a halfway house and that the Queen is head of state in Canada which leaves the door open for them. Prince Harry also has a big problem with the intrusive British media, so an escape from that perhaps.

But on another tack, is it OK for them to want "out" of royalty, but at the same time keep titles and obviously just show up now and then when it suits them?

Kind of part time royals, I know we do probably have a few already.
Its getting to a point where we need to look at who is getting paid for what and where from.

They stated that Charlie pays Harry money, private money? from the Duchy of Cornwall.
But I think we need to sort out if Charlie actually owns it or is it just some privilege that he was given?

There is a lot about the Royals that needs sorting out.

 

Ok.It seems to me that Megan wants her cake and eat it.
She has got her Prince and wants everything on her terms.
Harry is a genuinely nice bloke he has done so much good with Invictor games and an all round good egg.
Of course he is besotted with Megan and he wants to protect her ,he remembers only to well what happened to his Mother.
So what’s to become of them?

I think Canada is less likely to put up with our media and as we know it's one of the most intrusive in existence. I can't blame the Sussex's for wanting to escape it. Harry didn't have a choice being born royal, and we don't know how much the harrassment and death of Princess Diana has affected him.

Princess Anne is probably considered one of those and she waived titles for Peter and Zara.

Yes, and the younger generation are currently trying to bring themselves into the 21st century. The fact that Harry and Megan intend to work is a good start.

But does she? I think she and Harry have met each other halfway in this decision and it's good they are making decisions that suit them both within their marriage.
