Cannabis is very low on my Good Things List thanks to seeing too many people turning their brain into mushy peas. Honestly, a decade of smoking the stuff can turn you into a benevolent gherkin with lovely, high spirited ideas of a spiritual wellness or something like that.

Then again, the healing parts of the plant should definitely be commercialised more as they have so profoundly helping effect on certain pains and conditions. My cousin has been diagnosed with MS and will hopefully get the legalised version of CBD. Move on, medical companies, please! Please challenge the regulations to fast track approved "nutritional supplements" or whatnot to become available as a relief prescriptional medicines to those in need.

With respects to all. OK, as a former cop and still being interested in the law of the land etc. I can well understand peoples apprehension regarding to cannabis. (Perhaps my learned fellow scientist will add to the thread). Back in the 1960's. The new age of freedom, so it was thought. I can't recall ever having heard of cannabis. LSD yes. I believe, but avail myself to correction. LSD may still be the holder of the brain shrinker.

Many cannabis users have probably ended up on the mortuary slab. So the dreaded cannabis became renown. It has to make us wonder. Just how low, depressed, even death wishing, an individual has to become so as to chance it.

Thankfully, albeit here in the UK. Perhaps once again being slow and or over-cautious. Cannabis still remains cannabis, but now science has managed to seperate the goodies from the baddies. Now to the relief of many sufferers across the globe, certain oils from the plant, have now been found beneficial. Let's be honest. Constant pain, and perhaps immobility can really drain a persons stamina and endurance. I've heard pleaseing reports of cannabis oil helping cancer patients. I truly hope and pray this is true. To think of the excessive pain and suffering of cancer patients, and at the end of the day. Well it has given me another year. Surely this has to in some way say. Just how valuable life is to us. Apologies for going on but. Perhaps a drop or two might cure me of being a miserable old git. Friends. I wish you all the very best of good health.

@Selleri and @Mike Allen you are talking about high THC products not CBD oil which is used orally - not smoked - big difference! Not to worry, there are lots over here too that don't understand the difference and since I've been regularly asked to speak about the subject, I guess I know enough not to abuse the plant's dark side :) Actually, I don't think I know of anyone who died because of it

I've started some breads and am watching my show this morning, then it's back to regular chores like changing bed linens and other exciting tasks :heehee:

My 3 kg of Winston seed potatoes arrived from Suttons today. Very good company and would certainly order from them again. P1010019.JPG

I ordered 4 items via Amazon and when the courier arrived I received 3 parcels. That's not unusual as sometimes there are two separate orders in one box so I signed for the boxes. On checking the boxes there were only 3 items and the missing item was two sets of three white plastic pots and on looking at the delivery stage on the Amazon order page the item was down as delivered. I'd also ordered 3 larger pots from the same supplier before and also the same missing items on the same order and have done that before without any problems as they usually pack both different items in the same box........but not this time.
Wading through the Amazon pages on tracking a parcel, none of which actually have the problem of the non-arrival, although down as delivered, of an order. I eventually ended up finding a page that gave me the Amazon Customer Service which you can "chat" with via the computer or they will ring you almost immediately.
I was a bit sceptical about the "will phone you almost immediately" but after "chatting" via the computer I was given the option for Amazon to ring me. So I clicked on the option "ring me" and within seconds my phone was ringing!!! I guessed from the accent and pronounication that I was talking to a Lady in the Phillipines but she was very polite and very helpful giving me some reasons as to why the item was missing. I had to disagree with her and told her I thought it was more than likely that the item had not been packed in the Warehouse. She told me the item was from a 3rd party but offered 2 options (a) an immediate refund, (b) a wait until 10pm to see if the item turned up by then, and if not then she would ring me at 10pm to see if it had arrived to offer me an immediate refund. Now I consider that not bad as regards Customer service:love30::thumbsup: I'm pretty sure the item will not arrive before 10pm as my belief is that the item was never packed in the Warehouse. So I will take the refund and reorder the item straightaway. It's the first problem I've ever had regarding Amazon deliveries and probably comes from the fact that it was a multiple set of orders with two of the items being similar and from the same supplier.:coffee:

Well, the solution to my problem in the above post about a missing order from Amazon has been solved earlier than I thought it would be.
I received an e-mail just before 9pm proposing that I should wait not until 10pm today as agreed in a earlier phone call but until the 17th January. There were two buttons in the e-mail asking me if the problem was solved.........and I pressed "NO" and my phone immediately rang. It was the same Lady working for Amazon who was enquiring as to what was wrong. I told her that the original agreement was for me to wait until 10pm and then she would ring me to see if the parcel had arrived and, if not, then I would get a refund. So she asked me if I still wanted the refund and I said "Yes", so she immediately sorted that out while informing me that the refund would be paid back into my account within 7 days. I was happy with that and told her I would reorder the item immediately, which I did and it will arrive, hopefully:heehee:, tomorrow. So, all in all, I'm impressed with the way Amazon has set up their Customer Service although they could improve matters by making their Customer Service easier to find and also include the problem of a item being down as delivered but in fact missing from the delivery on the problem solving page.:coffee:

I can sympathise with you, being a retired hairdresser (amongst other things).

Your hairdresser's approach is not quite the way it should be done but these things happen. :noidea:

We had one regular customer who, when asked how they would like their hair cut replied with "in silence!" :heehee:

Decided to cut down on the chocolate that we bought for Christmas. Instead of having about 6 small soft centred chocs a day I'm going to have one. Got to stick to it because I've told hubby what I'm doing.

                    Hi,

                    I enjoy one small bar of Moser Roth Dark 85% Cocoa chocolate every day Logan; I buy lots of this at Aldi; it comes in what looks like a large bar of chocolate but in fact when opened there are five smaller bars;

                    Luxury Dark Chocolate - 85%

Every Christmas I indulge myself in two boxes of Black Magic chocolates but this Christmas just gone ended up with three boxes; I've just opened the third box; when it's finished I'll resume with the Moser Roth although I've been enjoying this together with the Black Magic. I'm dairy intolerant but genuine dark chocolate is pure delight and doesn't put me in hospital. I aim to have some pleasure in life whilst I'm still here and I don't care what we are told about this or that being bad for us; everything in moderation; no drugs; smoking or booze for me; I'll stick with my addiction to dark chocolate and hope the police don't ever get means of testing for it.

I'm built like a stick insect at 6' tall and about three years ago visiting my GP for the first time in twelve years ended up with a suggestion I put some weight on because of my BMI; I'm just over ten stone in weight the same weight I was leaving school almost 60 years ago; no gym or jogging for me I'm just naturally busy.

I see lots jogging and wonder why they do this because they never have a smile on their face and we have neighbours who visit the gym but have house cleaners; gardeners and window cleaners; yesterday I flattened myself dragging the petrol rotavator up the mountain and using it; this morning I've been practicing TIG welding; now aged 72 I can still put lots of young uns to shame. I aim to keep busy for as long as I can. :)

Go on Logan scoff some chocolate after all we're only here once. :roflol:

                    Kind regards, Colin.

We have only one square of Green & Blacks 85% Dark Organic Chocolate a day with our mid morning fresh coffee. Have done for years now...I certainly won't give up my little sqaure!!!

My hubs is like you @Retired ....he's been advised to put on weight too, despite having a healthy appetite!

                        Hi,

Thanks Upsy; I've definitely got an healthy appetite but whatever I eat I don't put weight on so apart from my dairy intolerance I make the most of it; I bet your husband is also fidgety if he's nothing to do?

One small square of dark chocolate a day is nice if the square is 12". :dbgrtmb: :heehee:

                        Kind regards, Colin.

Thanks @Retired have you noticed that your Black Magic chocolate boxes have got smaller but the same price. We buy what used to be the tins of Celebrations and Heroes chocolate, but they're smaller than the last year and the same price so instead of buying 2 we bought 3 and 3 of the pouches. Since I started eating them I've put on 4 lbs in weight so got to stop eating so many. I remember what you said about your intolerance and i think that's why some people are slimmer than others because they can't eat everything. Or they have a higher metabolism.

Hubby has Tesco's Classic Dark Chocolate 74% cocoa. He says he prefers the taste.

A few years back at Christmas i had some ordinary dark chocolate, a supermarket own brand, i ate so much of it i came out in a rash.

One of my brothers has always been slim and tall, never been overweight.

I haven't got a intolerance of certain foods so i have to be careful how much i eat of certain foods.

@Upsydaisy has your hubby got a intolerance of certain foods?

I always like to be doing things and if i sit down during the day i fall asleep and then i get a terrible headache that i can't get rid of, taking painkillers don't help, so i don't take them.

I also noticed that the collections of Heroes etc have got smaller. Sweets and cakes are not high up on my list. I often buy a tub or so of the former, as a little treat for the family.
Weight has never been a problem for me. When leaving school...........all those ages ago. I weighed in at ten stone ten. Eventually I clocked the scales at fourteen and a half stone. This weight has remained the same since I was early twenties, except when I was laid low with shingles. I went down to just seven stone. Eventually, leaving my sick bed, I didn't want to eat. A family friend who swore by herbal remedies etc, bought me a bottle of some Elixer. To this day, I believe it would have been a top class weed killer. A couple of doses, and I sat down and ate a whole cut loaf of bread an dripping.
Despite having IBS. I enjoy my food and in general, eat anything. I do love my sirloin steaks and most fish.

I am concerned about the sudden plague of food allergies.

                              Good health.

                                No @Logan....he eats everything!!:)

It more likely to be a higher metabolism rate. We both eat the same, do the same things, yet he's remained as slim as the day we met. Ok I'm not fat and yes I've carried our babies...but ....;)

A friend of mine who I use to work with always bought cakes for her coffee breaks from a nearby patisserie, we were all dead jealous because she was tiny and so slim.....still is!

I think with women it can also be down to how are hormones are always fluctuating.... well I kid myself that's the cause!!!:heehee:
