Anyone else have any holiday plans for this year?
After having a 'winter warmth' holiday in Madeira last January we decided to go away this month again, as this Winter has been so dull wet and windy, so we are going to Tenerife in two weeks time, staying in Puerto de la Cruz which is much greener than the South.
We have booked a week in Anglesey for our summer holiday.

We've just got back from Myanmar. It was their winter and dry season where the evenings got down to mid teens and days varied from 18C - 25C. We were touring and sightseeing all the time as we aren't keen on sunbathing. Brilliant time but we're templed out!

We shall have our regular couple of trips to the Lake District and shall be touring in France for a week. Not sure what we'll do for the other 11 months :lunapic 130165696578242 5:

Only tentative holiday plans here, as we are awaiting three decisions that will affect them. If the first, due on January 29th is negative, then they will all be cancelled. If the second is not what we are hoping for, then all but 3 will be cancelled. The third will do nothing more than decide the dates for the main holiday. Assuming all are positive...

April (Easter) will see us in Germany. May in Warsaw for the first of two "tv appearances. June will be in Prague. July the "main holiday" which will be a tour down through Germany again, into Switzerland, the Austria and finally Italy before a return through Germany again. August will see the only planned ocal (ie Swedish) trip of the year. September will see us in Denmark, finally, October in Torun, Poland for our second "tv appearance."

In all cases, I'm trying to make up for not using pollutants in the garden by using a diesel engined vehicle!:biggrin:

We have our two holidays booked to our appartment. We had booked flights with Thomas Cook before they collapsed and had to re-book with Bulgarian Airways. Luckily we booked on credit card so recovered all of our money.
Its not too bad as we now fly from Doncaster which is 25 mins from home but we land late at night so lose the first day.

First is for a week in May and then two weeks in August.

Nova Scotia planned for July, still have to work on the details. And a road trip to Ohio for end of August to a Clematis 3 day event and tour of an awesome garden, cousin reunion, and general sight seeing off the beaten path, still in planning mode.

I do need to save up this year due to the change in circumstances, but I hope we can afford to throw The Teenager back to sailing the Finnish archipelago with my sister and her partner. What a lovely trips they have made in the past years, navigating the archipelago from one island to another, from port to port, camping or perching in the boat. :)

Don't have holidays, don't need one.
I enjoy pottering around in the garden and walking the boys/dogs 4 times a day, get up at 4.45am even on Sunday.

When I retire, guess I can't state--going on holiday anymore, as I will be on holiday all the time. I am going to call it Exploring my back yard, and if my back yard is thousands of miles away, well ok then.

We call it 'travel, cultural touring and adventure' and it is usually all three at the same time. :blue thumb:
