Well maybe NASA should be telling us and not using a 15 year old as a mouthpiece?

I think we all know there is a problem, but climate change/global warming, or any other name you want to call it is just one of the symptoms, tell us the real cause, and then break the news to us.

Then see if you can tax that one.:lunapic 130165696578242 5:

With the greatest respect Greta is 17 year old young woman and yes I do see where she is coming from but us 'oldies' have apparently already 'done all the damage' !!!! it's also now down to the younger generation to try to make amends...that'll be interesting !!!!!!!!!..just saying

Why is there still this emphasis on 'us' and 'we'.. i.e. the little people? We're trained now to recycle (although whether the results are effectively disposed of is a moot point). We're being pointed in the direction of replacing our 'dirty' vehicules. We watch our energy consumption. But when are the real 'culprits' going to be tackled? Whether that's a whole country like America or manufacturers with their excessive packaging. Apart from the fact that our planet's climate has always gone through cycles of change, if 'we're' responsible for augmenting it, then why don't governments target the true source of the
problem? Answer....because it's a good source of revenue and they don't want to upset big business!

They are saying it was 10 yrs ago, and its also true that we thought we were recycling for years when our councils were shipping waste to the far East for them to dump it in the sea, presumably a nice little money maker.

It wasn't that long ago sewage pipes just discharged straight into the sea. At low tide I remember paddling in the warmer water at the end of the pipe.

They changed that and made it law that the pipes had to be longer! The theory was that the waste then went further out and was taken away by the currents.

I spent my early summer holidays in Rimini Italy in the 1960s, the beach there had sewage outfalls here and there along the length of it, the pipe stopped at the back of the beach and then the grey sludge just flowed down across the beach in a kind of river from each of the pipes.

It was a very wide beach in those days, really sandy and perfect really apart from the sewage runs and the grass in the dunes that had spiky seed capsules that stuck in you feet.

Well to me it was great anyway, until a certain day in 1966, I spent the morning in the sea and we were invited to join a local cafe to go and see their TV to watch the world cup final.

We got settled and within about half an hour I started spewing up really bad.

                    Never did see the match.

Our whole Niagara escarpment is paved in vineyards. All healthy and producing lovely grapes. Most of them have their own wineries too which have produced award winning wines.
