Did a bit of sewing, patched up hubby's jeans. He always gets holes in the legs.I have to undo all the seam in the legs to patch them up. I always keep his old ones so i can use them for patching.

Yes, they got the job done but I'm not sure that I would want them to do any other work. They certainly didn't instill any confidence in their abilities. :dunno:

        Hi,

We made our wills out a few years ago the solicitor charging £200 + Vat per hour; I virtually wrote the will; when we arrived back home after collecting our new wills I found I was now married to Mrs Brown. This was a top solicitors in Huddersfield. It's time we changed them again but not with the same solicitors otherwise I might end up married to another wife. I think solicitors are legalized villains; overpaid; underworked and untrustworthy. :mute:

        Kind regards, Colin.

Each year in November there is 'Will Aid'.

The charity Will writing scheme | Will Aid

This is a charitable organisation that some solicitors subscribe to. They will write your will for a donation to charity (the participating charities are listed). The suggested donation is just a suggestion. Anyone is welcome to use the scheme.

I help some people that are on benefits get their wills written and the solicitors usually just suggest a £25 donation although they are willing to do it for nothing.

Even people on benefits should have a will. They usually have a small amount of savings, a TV, books, phone and other things they would like to see go to specific people. One of the people I look after wants their things to go to their neighbour, who helps a great deal, and not to their sister who phones once a year to wish a happy birthday but never visits although they only live a five minute drive away.

Lasting Power of Attorney is another example of solicitors cashing in on people's fear of making a mistake.

A couple of months ago, I arranged LPA to step in and help Mum if she needs it. Both a health LPA and a finance LPA.

I was surprised how easy it was to do. Again getting all the signatories together was the time taker.

I was already helping Mum out - eg. sourcing the cheapest electricity supplier - on-line - to make sure that she got the best possible deal. The finance LPA is now legitimising what I was already doing .

I always get holes in jeans.
I repair them myself ,I stick a patch on the inside with Copydex ,press with an iron.
They last twice as long ,I find I come attached to various pairs and can’t let them go .

I have three favourite pairs of jeans.

End of summer, pre-Christmas (a size up), after Christmas (another size up) and back to end of summer :)

I've got a baggy, holey pair of jeans for gardening and other messy jobs. I never worry about being seen in them. I'm thinking the sight of me with a shovel in my hands encourages people to keep their distance :)

I have two pairs of gardening jeans, a pair of knee length jeans for the garden during the summer and numerous jean shorts too. I have several 'smart ' pairs that I wear when going out. They are so hard wearing and can stand a lot of rough jobs.

I don't wear jeans as I find them not flexible enough.

Most of my gardening is done in tracksuit bottoms that are no longer good enough for 'good wear' :heehee:. I don't have the problem of the knees wearing out as I haven't been able to kneel down for 55 years! :noidea: They're surprisingly good at resisting thorns and brambles and don't get cold. If they get damp (from the weather :nonofinger:) I just put on another old pair and I have over a dozen of them.

The only remedial work necessary is that they get holes in the pockets as I tend to put things in them as they're fairly spacious.

I had EPA's (the predecessor of LPA) for my parents. They certainly helped a lot and when my father died I was able to access everything immediately and get probate through on his will in just two weeks. My mother asked me to take over managing everything and the EPA made it extremely easy. :blue thumb:

Before we were married hubby used to take in his shirts and move the buttons over on the cuffs so that they were tighter. The i offered to do them, he also has the sleeves shortened. He's not that slim anymore so i don't take them in and i found out that he doesn't do up the cuffs, he just rolls the cuffs up a bit, so i don't have to do it anymore.

Hubby wears jeans all the time, eventually the fabric goes in the zip area that's when he gets a new pair.
He did change the style of them so that they would be more comfortable.

I wouldn't wear shorts when I'm gardening because i always get bitten by insects.

                              Hi,

                              I always wear these having clean for daily wear; well worn for workshop wear;

                              Men's Cargo Trousers 31

They are so comfortable; I've got about six pair; not always available so I keep a lookout when I need any. Jeans are out for me being too stiff and uncomfortable; the pockets on the cargos are very useful.:dbgrtmb:

                              Kind regards, Colin.
