@wiseowl that's scary for those by the sea today. It's blustery but not the intense rain that has been mentioned. Battle suffers from little power cuts on wild, wet windy days unfortunately. Much bring the torch in from the hall cupboard. Might be needed....

Just read your post re:hanging baskets. Gosh - it's pretty violent where you are. Please don't go out to retrieve them yet. There maybe other missiles around.

A bit breezy here. Woke up to the outbuilding alarm and realised that we had a power cut.

Checked everything - all ok apart from a swing bench blown over and the pond pump not working. Leaving the bench on its back so it wont be blown over again. Ive since spent over an hour in the wind and rain fixing the pond pump. Turned out to be the motor wouldn't spin - not sure if its the start up capacitor or it had something jammed - either way its now working again and I'm soaked !

Winds of 61 mph at the moment, some planks of wood are laying at the base of the big wall backed cold frame..I think they were stored on top of it and we forgot to secure them.....:fingers crossed: that is where they have come from:yikes: .Heavy rain has eased up now for the moment. We are feeling sorry for our son who returned from 6weeks away yesterday as he left temps. of 33C on Friday.

Bolt the doors and cosy on down!

Well well, the storm has hit here down in Mentmore. Torrential rain and gusts now. Can you believe it just blew the sliding door off the hinge of my greenhouse!! Weve managed to fix and secure it.

I’m hoping the evil neighbours small polytunnels all blow away :fingers crossed: and their other stupid protest signs blow off.

The wind is clattering against the velux window in the living room...i hope no tiles fly off!
