      Aloha everyone,

The sun is burning the frost off. :blue thumb:

I have the first of the tree surgeons coming round this afternoon to give me a quote. I was hoping to get access to the tree from the farmer's field but he said no vehicles can get on the field now as even his tractors are axle deep in mud. He said if we want to cut it up and leave it till after harvest we could then burn it on the field. I don't know how much space a 70ft high tree will take up when cut and stacked but the area it's in is where all our wild flowers are - cowslips, primroses and bee orchids.

Keep well and have a great day

      Aloha!

              Aloha everyone,

It has been pouring for the last few hours so no gardening today, but we got a lot done yesterday.

Another tree surgeon coming to quote this afternoon. Yesterday's man said he would need to work out his quote and send it to me. I think it will be a bit more than £50  :heehee:

Keep well and have a great day

              Aloha!

Morning all, we had a wild night, I didn't get much sleep!! I'm talking about the weather ;) !!! The wind howled around the house and rattled at the windows we also had heavy rain but the wind was too noisy to hear that as well.

A greenhouse day beckons as I think we'll have rain on and off for most of the day.

Have a good day whatever the weather brings you.:)

I've just had my first quote through. To cut up and remove the 70ft Poplar (60" diameter), including getting one third of it back over to the neighbour's garden, from the field, boarding out 220ft of the neighbour's garden (he has deeper vehicle access than us), removing everything, tidying up and making good any damage to the neighbour's garden. £850.

                      Yes.

It will also have to be extricated from the deer fence and broken wall. The stump will have to be hand cut as there is soil and stones in the lower part. The whiter part you can see on the right is the other half of the tree that's in the field.

Just a glimpse of the 50ft long section in the field that will have to be taken over the fence and through the garden.

The trees in my Dad's garden and very tall too, still haven't reached a decision yet on who to go with. I am at my Dad's for the day tomorrow so we'll talk it through then .:)
