Your Day (apart from gardening) - what took place?

Thank you all, no I'm sorry i don't adopt only if you're a golden retriever.

 

Just catching up with the house work. The rest of the day is all mine, apart from walking the boys and making the dinner late this afternoon.

It's soon time for their walks got a extra walk to do because hubby is working.

 

Got those Eco dot and the Eco I've just learned how to make a playlist on it.

 

I'm going to experiment with coloured filters for the garden lights - as I am getting a bit bored with the usual white light.

Just purchased a blue filter off fleabay - that will be going on the back flood light.

The flood light at the front of the bungalow - I think I'll change that to green and see how it looks.

 

Compiling a playlist on the Echo devices is brilliant isn't it.
We have the Echo Dots upstairs and keep the Echo Shows downstairs....despite the fact we cover the camera when not in use, we still feel uneasy at the thought of having a Show upstairs. There are some very unnerving stories about people's privacy being hacked into.

I would hate to scare anyone being greeted by the sight of me coming out of the bathroom drape only in a towel......or not!!!!

 

Spent the whole day with my Dad. After household tasks were done I did some more sorting of his CDs and colour coded them into various categories to make it easier for him find what he wants.
As usual we have been left with a small (ish) pile of CDs that fit into several categories ...and we can't decide on which one!! That will be next week's job!

I thought that it would be easy, even for me. But when I named the playlist as Moss, sometimes it thought I said Mars.I ended up with 2 playlists at first i couldn't understand why some of the songs wouldn't play. Until hubby went on his computer and found out why and he put them all together into one playlist. The only thing is that I've got 40 songs on one playlist. They're good things to have but, it annoys me when i have to ask to put on the light when i can just use the switch. Sometimes i forget and i use the switch then it has to be re set. In our bedroom we got 2 switches one for the ceiling and one for the wall lights. If I'm not in there for long i use the wall light. Haven't got any echo shows.

Your doing a good job there upsydaisy, i haven't used my CDs in years because the sound system is in the living room and i like to hear music when I'm in the kitchen and it's very difficult to hear from the living room. Also i like to play music that i can sing to but Barley doesn't like me singing he starts howling, never had a dog like him before the others weren't bothered at all. It's not that i can't sing either, honest.

Nevertheless I enjoy going down Memory Lane with him, and being able to listen to his and my Mum's favourite songs from the 40s ,it's fun hearing about their lives as teenagers . They got engaged when my Mum was 16 yrs old ,but then my Dad started his Pilot training in the RAF and they had long spells apart. He was also posted to Greece and didn't come home for over a year. They got married when Mum was 19. It's lovely having the opportunity to share in their past with him.
I'm making the most of the time we have left together, and learning about him and my Mum as 'people' and not just as the parents I know and love.

@Upsydaisy yes your dad is amazing.

My parents had to wait until my mom was 21. I think that it was because she didn't have her dad to give consent to their marriage, because he died.

 

Some laundry. off to food shop soon. will stop by the local Fire Hall they are having a Chicken Pot Pie sale, last year got a tub, its sooooooo good. So will be a easy dinner tonight. That and a salad. Local Amish family makes it, so yummy. Still cold here, might see if I can get in an hour to rake, or maybe Sunday.

Back to the Chicken Pot Pie----this is a regional dish. As I am from Ohio this was new to me also when I moved here in 1983. So posting a you tube video of what it means "here" when one says Chicken Pot Pie.
