Totally agree, loli, but, as we have seen in the final weeks of Brexit, there are organistions, political parties, etc, all too willing to try to block any moves this Government makes whether it put's Life at risk or not.

When it mattered - she stood with the enemy.

Shamima Begum loses appeal over citizenship

Now going to appeal - she can stay away from civilised society.

If the ECJ get involved - we should deliberately delay and appeal - until we are out of the EU fully.

Had to laugh at this quote from an EU diplomat:

The UK’s withdrawal from the European Union has left a huge €75bn (£62bn) hole in the bloc’s budget for the next seven years, 2021 to 2027. “And now we are fighting like ferrets in a sack,” said one EU diplomat with a sigh.

The Court Of Justice is part of the EU but the European Court Of Human Rights isn't. So it depends on which court she may appeal to. Her lawyers would be silly not to apply to the ECHR.

Oh poor things. Oh well, how sad...moving on.

France today are sounding off about how tough they'll be in trade negotiations. Huge shock there - I expect that either there will be a constant sniffy tiff for 10 months and then a deal of some sort or 10 months of sniffy tiff and then no deal. One thing I do not expect is happy families or any deal to be particularly good.

I suspect that French business will be very cross if Macron starts messing about. He will receive a good telling off.

I voted 'yes' to the EEC (1975?) and Brexit in 2016. I'd do exactly the same in similar circumstances without regret, but what I DON'T want is a Union of European Socialist Republics to live in. There wasn't much to recommend the Soviet version?

Look forward! With only 8 'senior' states remaining to prop up the rest, their budget contributions will need to increase. With only 4.5 million population that won't suit Ireland which will be united by then, so the Irexit Freedom Party will prosper and Ireland will also leave to become the major food source for the UK, linked by Boris Bridge which will benefit Scotland and reduce their demand to go it alone.

Without the UK contribution I can't see the EU managing to keep the poorer members funded and certainly not bailed out. More infighting to follow...

Barnier: UK can't have Canada trade deal with EU

A word of caution Barney - Boris is not bluffing when he says we are leaving on 31st December.

I'd be happy if we exit on WTO - we can then see the EU knocking on the door of No. 10 asking for a deal.

I also see that reality is finally hitting home with the EU. I can't recall which MEP it was, but in a nutshell - the economy of the UK is forecast to grow faster than that of the EU when we leave. This MEP questioned why the EU was not forecast to grow at a simiar rate. Very good question sir....

The day I voted for Brexit - best day ever....:dbgrtmb:

That's why they're aiming at bigger tariffs and tougher agreements - to fund the shortfall. Will it work? :dunno:

In the breath after Barnier said 'non' to a Canada style agreement he mentioned fisheries. What a shock. Huge surprise!
What I don;t really understand is why negotiations won't even start until March. You'd have thought they'd have wanted to be at the table as early as possible! Very much looking forward to Boris telling them to stick it and the false outrage that follows from the EU.

The EU has said, all the way along, that they must have fishing rights in our waters. I've a feeling we may give them that concession in exchange for a lot of other concessions.
