Yep, you can bet that is what they are betting on as well.

I've never understood why lots of fish that our fishermen catch seems to end up being exported anyway?
We pay high prices, but it still gets exported.

I'm guessing that apart from the odd fish and chips we dont eat that much seafood.
Unless of course it got lots of curry on it.:roflol:

Not sure I agree, Shiney, as Boris has already said that full access to our waters is not an option, and that any concession would have to be on an annual renewal basis. It's a very sensitive subject with our own Fishermen and any real concessions to the EU would cause a lot of political problems for this Government, and I'm pretty sure Boris is aware of that.:dunno::cat-kittyandsmiley::coffee:

Since when did you start taking what politicians say as being true?:lunapic 130165696578242 5:

          Too true, pete.:heehee:
But the EU is demanding full access to our waters and that would be too much of a retreat from the UK's stance. The EU is also demanding we align with their standards, yet again, but it's again been stated that this Government is prepared to walk away and go for WTO terms. Having said that, most companies exporting to the EU are already in alignment so, deal or not deal, they've don't have to change a thing.:dunno::cat-kittyandsmiley::coffee:

Yeah you make it sound simple, but it aint.
We might well have companies aligned with the EU, but if they won't accept that , where does that leave us.
We will be out, no deal, OK I don't personally have a problem with that, but a lot of people will.

As I say, I think all things are up for negotiation, and before you say you like my optimism, (pessimism), I'm under no misapprehension that our stance is cut and dried.

There has only been one PM in history who has stood up to the EU and won, as far as I'm concerned, and this is an even bigger deal than that one was.

Why should the EU have access to our Fishing waters, Boris needs to tell them to poke it.

They can have access to our waters, but only with rod and line :heehee:

Iceland exports their cod to the UK, but doesn't let our boats fish in their waters. Denmark slso 'exports' a lot of cod to the UK, but I suspect they catch most of it in UK waters!

And no bait or hook. The biggest thing when we leave the EU properly is that the UK Fishermen/women will be free from EU quotas but also that should we give the EU a fishing consession we will be the ones giving them a quota!!:heehee:

Quite right, they will just be restricted by quotas imposed by the UK government Without trade deal they will also loose the EU as a market for the catch that the British either don't want or won't pay a fair price for.

And not just for Commercial Fishermen and Recreational Sea Anglers, there's even proposals for quotas for digging bait or foraging on the seashore Have Your Say - Hand Working Fishing Activity

And non-EU quotas for RSAs are already in existence, for example near NigelJ, the 20 catch limit on Mackerel at Hopes Nose (but certain groups have ways of flouting it, by having others taking their catch away so they never have more than 19).

It's all part of the EU's standard procedures to confuse and heighten the issues over the Trade Talks:doh:.........perhaps we shouid as all the remaining EU members to return their National Museums to return all historical articles that they have in their "care" that were removed from other countries over the centuries!!:hate-shocked::dunno::cat-kittyandsmiley::coffee:
