Thanks, it’s upsetting but been getting worse quite quickly recently. Only started 18 months ago or so. My sister looked in on him most days and made sure he’s ok etc but she’s had her own issues to deal with and all of a sudden a gold digging cleaner has become his best friend... he’s bought them cars and cleared debt etc and they are completely taking advantage but there’s not too much we can do about anything. My uncles son buggered off to Australia many years ago so everything is at arms length although he’s promised to look in at some point this year.
Anyhoo, more distressing that he’s lost his faculties more than the cash he’s being cleaned out of.

There are some evil good for nothings out there these days and this makes me very angry:mad: it's so annoying when your hands are tied ,we've had the same problems with a very dear friend of ours, his family aren't interested but 'others' are'...:mute:...we've tried legally to right the situation but we don't stand a chance...

All I can say, which is little comfort..remember your uncle for the man he was and actually still is in his own world.:grphg:

It gets rather frustrating when you spend an enormous amount of time doing stuff for them, and then they tell you (and everybody else) how wonderful another family member is (who does virtually nothing), crediting them with all the stuff you do.

Sounds like an application to the Court of Protection is required.

I'd like to thank the very considerate person who damaged the near side front door of my car, thankyou for NOT owning up to it, leaving no details and leaving me to pick up the hefty repair bill.

As I've said before my friend Keith is in a wheelchair with ms and can't do much. He wants to have one of those ring door bell with camera so he's got to have a smartphone so my hubby can set everything up for him. He's got an old smartphone that he hasn't used for a long time. He went into a Vodafone shop and explained what he wanted it for, they changed the sim card and charged him for £10.00 for pay as you go. Hubby was trying to set up play store on Keith's smartphone and found out that they didn't give him a phone no. or any pin no, they must have thought that he was a easy touch.
Hubby bought him a sim card from a supermarket for £1.00 and i put it in his phone and now Keith has got to do the rest.

Keith didn't know that they could be bought at a supermarket or anywhere else or i think that he wouldn't have gone to that shop.

For power of attorney? Funny (not) story there. It turns out my uncle has a niece; while my aunt was alive she said the niece was a parasite and wouldn't have her near them. Aunt dies and my uncle wants to reconnect which he duly does... Niece turns up and is paraded as wonderful and all of a sudden has POA. She also has all the jewellery and not been seen since!
                    Aren't families fun lol

Similar to scrungee's comment. Albeit back in the 1990's. My old mum alas acted in a similar way. My wife Val used to go in each day to help mum who was approaching 90, her eyesight was going, if not gone. Mum would tell others what a wonderful daughter she had and all what my sister was doing for her. My sister used to vist quite regularly but her time was limited. Anyway never did mum mention Val. This got up my nose and was the cause of me inwardly building a barrier between my sister and myself. This caused me such heartfelt shame as my sister, 16 yrs my elder, we had such a loving bond between us.

Well before 1990 my sister was laying in hospital, dying of leukemia. Her wish was to have only her husband and me at her bedside. For some unexplainable reason, I realised my sister was totally unaware of mums action or whatever. Mum passed way aged 90yrs 6mths.

2010 Val was on the list for heart surgery. She was allowed home for about four days. She never work up from the surgery. Those final few days together, we chatted about the future etc. We both realised this was a one way ticket. Val said. Sorry love, but I have to say this. I never did like your mum. I told her, I understood.

My opinion is. It is so, so sad to witness anyone, more so a loved one, toward the end of their life having endured so much and now in a kind of way, having their dignity and pride, and knowledge and learning, kind of disintergrating before them. In such cases, does the brain register all of this. Can, does the person actually have any feeling, response etc. Yes! we might at times lose patience with them. Does anyone know if they are aware of what's happening?

With the greatest respect to all. We don't know. Each and everyone of us, at the passing of family member, a friend, even a pet. Something about us so often causes us remorse. Sorry but there is no tablet, pill or medicine to alleviate this. Respectfully. Please try and as the old saying goes. Let sleeping dogs lie. Seek comfort in prayer or whatever.

This is going to make finding the cheapest places to shop really difficult. Was really useful to check what/whether to buy when getting a conditional spend voucher to get further money off tbat week's special offers, work out split weekly shops to save £££s, or quickly check if that 'special offer' really was the cheapest deal, etc.

I'm guessing if you were the member of public that was hurt you might have a different view on the situation, maybe.
We dont know what went on?

I do remember once having a copper in a police car, looking in total panic with the blue light flashing, he was gesturing to me to get out of his way.
The traffic was in total gridlock at the time and without ramming another car there was nowhere to go.
                              They are only human.
