After what they said today I feel much more happy.;)
So apparently children cant catch it at school and become the super spreaders that they are and you can't catch it at work.
Also you can't catch it at supermarkets.

But you can catch it if you do unnecessary journeys or try to enjoy yourself.

    Clear as mud.

    Am I seeing a pattern developing?

The world is officially barking mad! No tinned tomatoes, butter beans (and everyone claims to hate them), pasatta, pasta, spuds, lentils or numerous other things anywhere. I've just stocked up on cheeses as I probably would have to turn to crime if that disappeared.
On the plus side it has reduced my journey time in and out of London from two hours to ninety minutes. And we can find comfy seats in Cafe Nero now.
I appreciate that it is serious for some people but the world does not need to come to a grinding halt does it?

If you're not allowed to fly there then you should have a good chance of reclaiming the cost if you paid by credit card. You contact the card company to make a Section 75 Claim. :blue thumb: Make sure that you don't make that claim before they have banned the travel.

If you're cancelling it because it's your choice then you don't have a claim. If the venue is not available because of government restrictions then you do have one. If you're not currently able to claim then you can wait till the last minute before cancelling in the hope that the government tell the venues to close down.

Unfortunately, Jenny, that's not possible for a lot of people. In fact, I would say that only a smaller percentage of the working population could do that:wallbanging:

Been a busy day but saw the video of Boris. Did he not say, stay out of pubs? Maybe my hearing is faulty since now I see all these posts, I it seems the UK did not self destruct with that edict!

He said stay out of pubs, the theatre, any venues like that where there's a lot of people together. Over 70s to stay at home but you can go for a walk but stay out of people's way or keep a distance from them.
That's for pregnant women as well because they don't know the outcome.

Sainsbury's had a lot of fresh fruit and veg this morning, that's unusual for a Monday but no toilet rolls or kitchen towels and the 5kg of sugar.

Just my view of what the government is doing, no big deal.
I tend to look for the lighter side of things, but I'm obviously out of step with the hysteria that is going on right now.

To be honest, I thought that, unlike you, you were adding to it. Panic buying is hysteria, people taking things out of context and amplifying it is hysteria. You and I both know you're a really level headed guy, with far more worldly experience and knowledge than me, but there's people out there that take anything in print as gospel and will wind themselves into a knot without any encouragement from you or me. This thing is not under control, and we need to understand that........and now today the total is 56 dead.
