At last the weather is nearly mild enough to do some gardening,..its the same every year i imagine i wont get out there to get rid of Autumn and Winter traces,..then get stuck into pruning then moving things around before sowing seeds posted from friends,..i did get stuck in today.

Its friends look healthy despite no blooms yet,..that's just half of them.



I spent some time putting handles and Coconut Fibre on large ugly containers.



If i were impatient i would have missed some Delphiniums popping up,..they were cuttings from last season.


More that two in this container.


I must have being in a rush as this rose cutting isn't tagged.



Lily shoots,..if you look close there are small bulbs which were pushed above the surface,..saving them and potting them will produce blooms this season.


keep all my Lilies in containers,..approx seven large containers,..weeding only takes place when the young shoots won't be bothered by the disturbance of weed pulling.

 

Weather is getting milder,..a sure sign is 'Whisper' taking up the sunny spot atop the greenhouse,

She started sleeping indoors a few weeks ago where as before it was out every night,..while i am on the computer she sleeps at my feet,..must be a comfort zone thing

 

Its a first that my four species of Amaryllis are about to bloom at the same time,..first time in years.

At the top of a stem one pod appears and when it opens there can be up to six blooms each approx hand sized,..vague description of size lol.

 

Looking forward to photos when buds open Philip.

 

Hi Victoria,..some of them should be in full bloom within two days,..looks like some real big ones coming along.

2 Blooms in full display,..one bloom is 15 cm wide = 6 inches,..the other bloom is 20 cm wide =8 inches,..its going to be a great display when all six blooms from this pod are at full size.
