The temperature has dropped from the middle 50f's of yesterday to the middle 40f's so with that NorthEasterly wind it's not really pleasant out in the garden. But, wanting to finish off some jobs I clad myself in some thick, warm gear and tried to keep out of the wind by sticking to the more sheltered areas.
One job that I was determined to finish off was putting all the remaining Conifer pruning, plant leaves and debris, laying at the bottom of the middle path, into a garden sack and then dumping it into the Green Wheelie Bin ready for the Bin Collection tomorrow morning. By the time I had done that I was chilled to the bone, so I retreated to the Green House to do some watering and sorting out of the Hardy Perennials so that I could get warm again.
Another job I wanted to finish off was putting some of the Hardy Perennials in pots on the Patio onto the table I've placed under the Kitchen Window which will, later in the warmer months, have the Cacti and Carnivorous plants collection. I've left some under the table and some elsewhere on the Patio but I've got the ones I want where they should be. I've also moved the Acacia in the large pot to a new sheltered spot against the West Fence on the Patio because the new table was overlapping into it's space.
I wanted to do more but I was too cold to enjoy what I was doing, so I headed for the warmth of the House.:cat-kittyandsmiley::coffee:

Well I am back in the house its lovely and warm in the GH even though its not partially sunny more overcast , sowed more seeds while in there Cosmos purity and candystripe which I may plant together if they germinate , Also more cleome there a bugger to germinate I am using seeds I collected very late last year which I didn't dry to well, others seeds sown canary creeper - 3 types of marigold - Tomato sunlemon - Ammi vasnaga - sunflower and some others I've forgot .

That were the jobs in the GH done and now for outside where is cold and trying to snow, cleared out the rest of the veg beds mulch with own compost . Planted out my potatoes in one bed , I am growing Red duke of York ( earlies ) this year . Pulled the odd weed out while inspecting the borders after using the rest of my Home compost mulching one of the borders.

I would have difficulty selling unless they were close by and then I would have problems with distancing - but I could wait to afterwards if I could thing of where to keep it.

@Perki ...I've given up totally on Cleome , like last year I've had complete failure. Sowed and tried various temps on 3 batches and ended up with zilch. Every year I tell myself not to bother....but somehow I just can't resist a last attempt:heehee:..and I hate being beaten.:wallbanging:

No gardening today, hail stones/rain, so my daughter & grandaughter said I should do a painting. Now Maria & Kat are very good, but me I'm useless, give me a drill, set square etc and I'm happy..........
Anyway here's my attempt at a painting, oh Maria told me I wasn't to put it in the font window as someone may call the Police P1010042.JPG

Good afternoon I have spent a most enjoyable 2 hours shredding all the garden waste that had built up over time, and preparing a new fence panel to put up tomorrow, the wind did feel quite cold, but no colder than being working the river which I enjoyed for many years, surrounded by new growth everywhere, the apple tree covered in new buds, the wild cherry many small leaves, and the Stella cherry tree and victoria plum tree covered in white blossom, and my friend the blackbird watching me,also planted some Munstead Lavender plants, now for a cup of coffee:smile:

Hmmmm - this distancing thing is a bit of a pain. I would happily accommodate it for you in my shed, but I am not allowed to travel to you to get it etc.

We do a lot of porch pick ups. They leave the money in the mail slot or etransfer it to you first. You leave the goods outside in a spot you describe to them. Worked a couple of times for me. And that was before COVID19. It was so no one had to be available during the day or whatever time the buyer could make it.

I've decided to maybe start up some Lupin seeds. Well hopefully. They are from a year ago and they may not germinate but worth a shot. :)

I always try and use fresh seeds and I lightly cover mine with vermiculite and pop into the propagator, I do have some plant but I want more they are really nice interesting plants. Might try popping the seeds in the fridge for a 1 week or 2 see if that make a difference.
