    My Amaryllis last year ... but the stupid things are so top heavy that even with masses of stabilising gravel in their pots they often wind up like this :

        @Kristen ,

        Lovely blooms,..sad about the one that toppled over,..yes they are a problem being so top heavy,..the stems alone weigh a lot but when in full bloom one needs a bigger pot or Terracotta as well,..moving mine around was with great care as they swayed enough to move the soil around the bulbs.

          Well lucky you Victoria to have a :wheelie: :),..i like that word 'Clamber'.
          So you have Drizzles,..i envy you,..isn't that surprising seeing we get so much rain and we still have floodwater,..its warm here now and yesterday i had to use the hose in the garden as we had no rain for a spell.

                I had a troublesome Rose Bush which never really came into itself despite trying everything,..so i decided one last attempt,..instead of removing it from the soil and keeping as much of the soil around the roots i washed off all the soil with a mix of Neem Oil and Water,..potted it and covered the Crown,..that was last Summer,..Eureka,..growth though it be small its a start,..however as its from the below the soil it could be a Sucker,..touch wood.

                DSC00002.JPG

                When i first dug up the Rose Bush a small branch broke off and i used it as a cutting,..most of it died,..except for a small green section as below.

                DSC00032.JPG

                DSC00034.JPG

                I could have cut below the green area and again used it as a cutting though it being so small chances it would die back and be lost,..so i left it be and built up soil covering the green area,..using a plastic container with the bottom cut off.

                Today there is a wee shoot peeking out.

                    Absolutely adorable!! How many cats have you had Philip?
                    As I watched I kept saying ' aww that's got to be my favourite pic, but then the next one became my new favourite...then the next one.....
                    I particularly like the one near the beginning where 4 ( I think) kittens were asleep in a green/blue pot, also the shots with the cuddly soft toy dog too!

                    Brilliant:dbgrtmb:

                      Oh, how precious! Thank you for sharing,Philip. We are often saying we don't understand how people can dislike cats. :cat-kittyandsmiley:

                      May I ask how you do your videos please? Years ago I used to do it of my garden ... but for the life of me I can't remember how! :doh: I think it was Photobucket which I do not use now.

                        Hi Upsydaisy,

                        It was a very long video compared to those i make these days,..i think just over 30 mins was the longest but that entailed a lot of time in the making.

                        The most amount was 12 between Adults and Kittens,..i never intended to have so many however nature took its course and there are 8 in the image below,..they would all be present for morning and evening meals,..all of them went outside come night time,..during the day was sleeping time so they picked a spot and were quite content,..come winter they all slept in the Sitting Room under the supervision of ' Plain The Oldest Cat',..image below,..she trained them and did so well that i never had any of them soil in the house,..there was a litter tray but they went outside,..unless one were sick then the Litter Tray was used.

                          Hi Victoria,

                          After looking at your Thread and seeing your Cats that's what encouraged me to post the video.

                          Every Cat that allowed me to live with it had its own personality and they were all interesting to watch,..i think people with gardens dislike Cats because they soil in the garden,..a friend set a sandy spot in his garden and his Cats used that and nowhere else,..only once did i get a smell in the garden and that was due to a visiting Tom.

                          Ah yes the making a video is made easier with the Free Software i use,..'Microsoft PhotoStory 3',..you pick the images you want,..place them in a file,..then when you open PhotoStory 3 its easy to find them and load them into the program,..if you make a mistake you don't lose your images,..start again,..you can pick the duration you want each image to appear,..then add music from your Music Files,..the difficult part is finding music to play in the background which is as long as the amount of images you have,..plus from last year music must be with the permission of the musician or Royalty Free,..the latter is easy enough with YouTube providing Royalty Free Music from their 'Audio Library',..all you are then expected to do is print credit to the musician.

                          I tend to have an image viewed for 5 seconds,..so 50 images X 5 = 250 seconds then divide that by 60 and you have 4 mins and 16 seconds of video.

                          One does not have to include background music of course.

                              Thank you Philip. T'other Half says I can't download that as I am using Ubunto but he will look for something similar that is compatible.

                              The Amaryllis are in a good spot on the window ledge to catch the sun.

                              Of course the cat pictures are lovely. :cat-kittyandsmiley:

                                @Victoria ,

                                Ah that's a shame,..however there are lots of Video Making software out there all are easy enough,..the big difference is the Video Images Display System,..the one T'other Half used in making your 'Izzy Blue Video' is easy on the eyes.
