I agree with Loofa about Trump. This man is an insult to humanity. He moods and attitudes change like the weather. I find nothing about him interests me at all.

We use it too but only pay £8.99 per kilo in the Asian wholesalers and it's £5 for half a kilo in Sainsbury's.

Towards the end of the cooking we sprinkle sunflower seeds on the top for the extra crunch. :blue thumb:

We don't use any sugar or butter in it.

It is very clear @wiseowl and in fact seems to be directly taken from the letter of the law that was announced by the government - - in short, if you drive ten minutes to get out into the countryside and then walk for an hour, that is perfectly reasonable and allowed under the current restrictions. If you drive for two hours then take a 10 minute stroll along the beach, that is not considered to be reasonable and not allowed under the restrictions.

As long as you spend quite a bit more time walking than you do driving, you will be fine - more so as you will have Penny with you because you will clearly be getting exercise for both of you.

Shhhhh...you can't go airing pro-europe views on here :);) Well, not unless you want to stir up a (european) hornet's nest again :loll:
Quite agree about findings being approved and verified, but apparently, P. Raoult had a lot of support from his colleagues and other eminent French medics. As the anti-malarials were combined with another medicament, he stressed the need for correct prescription and avoidance of self-medication. The 'vested interest' in this case was the involvement of the French Health Minister's husband in several major pharmaceutical Companies. Which is a sad indictment of our society, (not the first, either) when potentially life-saving discoveries are suppressed in the name of profit.

Thanks for that tip @shiney :blue thumb: - I usually buy Almond flour from Lidl but can't recall the price, a lot less than Amazon. We have not left the house for shopping so a visit to Lidl to save a few quid is not worth the risk, also we would spend more in petrol getting there and back.

We use a sugar substitute based on Stevia but do use full fat butter - there are no carbs in it :)

What do you use in place of butter?

Nothing. I suppose technically it is not a crumble but a topping. We just spread the almond flour on top (not too thickly otherwise it becomes too dry) and then use the sunflower seeds and/or other seeds such as pumpkin seeds (tend to be more crunchy). If the fruit is not sweet enough we put Stevia in when cooking it first. The Stevia we use doesn't contain any artificial sweeteners so we buy it from the U.S.

@wiseowl enjoy your walk. I totally agree with the analysis that @Fat Controller has given. Just in case you come across an awkward jobsworth I would tend to carry a copy of that paper. :dbgrtmb:

It’s all change here...as you all know I’m a really busy person, I love a bit of pressure, I love structure & I thrive on routine...I hate downtime......well I’m not actually sure I do!!!! You see over the past couple of weeks I’ve had a bit of downtime, I’ve had less structure & I can’t say I’ve felt any pressure work wise....secretly I think I’ve enjoyed myself a bit too much! As from the middle of the week my structure & my normal busy life is going to return (it won’t be normal it’s the new normal for the next 12 weeks or so) I have different hours at work & I will be spending more time in one place....I’m not sure how I feel about any of it if I’m totally honest! So here’s my plan...I’m going to take my new working arrangements in my stride, I’m going to give it my best shoot & see how I feel at the end of it, I’m going to write an honest diary about the whole experience...read the diary at the end & make a decision moving forward...maybe I will enjoy it, maybe the change will do me good or perhaps I will hang up my coat & do something totally different!
I know lots of you will be feeling a bit apprehensive, worried, unsettled, concerned, stressed but the point I’m trying to make is we are all sailing up the creak without a paddle! None of us know what the outcome of this will be...but what I do know is this...a few months or perhaps a year from now we will talk about this & find parts of it really funny, parts of it really sad & there will be some experiences we will hold close to our hearts, new friends will be made & some old friends will be lost....but out of every evil comes good. Keep calm folks, keep focused don’t fall apart it will be ok. Dig those flower beds & pull up those weeds! Stay safe :grphg:

                              for balance only! :

So did Andrew Wakefield ... support from eminent contemporaries, and published in The Lancet. That support subsequently withdrawn by all the them ... and the publication too ...

That event was rushed because colleagues were persuaded that it was important and urgent to get it into public domain ... which if it had been true it might have been ... but ... "hurry up slowly" is maybe better.

Can't help with the fingers-in-the-till bit though, except that I'm not at all sure that France has the monopoly on that!
