Oh dear. New issue - Just checked the bathroom plumbing and they've gone and plumbed in the sink where the rad was supposed to be and the rad where the sink was supposed to be. Won't be able to open the door!
Easy fix except they've now put the screed down so that will need chipping out!

Does that mean the pipework is buried in the floor screed?

My in-laws had dreadful damp in their bathroom that nobody could identify the source of until I suggested leaking pipes in the screed. We had buried pipes in our rear lobby between our GF bathroom and kitchen that blocked and were a PITA to re-route above floor level.

They were both Victorian houses re-plumbed in the 60's. When I was involved in housing schemes in the 70's(?) the pipes were within a mini duct in the screed, but those was abandoned as a maintenance nightmare, reverting to all above floor pipework.

Good grief, is one of those fellows dyslexic? Isn't this the second time they've gotten things reversed?

Yup, piping and waste all buried! Think he checked it prior though, just a shame about placement lol

Yes... there's been a couple of other issues but given the scope they have done pretty well. The clanger with the doorway missing was a good one though!

Nowhere to move the doorway to John :(

This is your run of the mill cock up and he's got back to me this morning saying he'll sort it. This plumber isn't fazed by anything it seems and has some really good suggestions, just glad I picked it up now and not later.

Had a quick trip to the site and happy to say the plumber has admitted to brain fart and sorting the problem with pipes...sparky wanted a word about consumer unit placement plus a few other things (lucky I was there!)...the ceiling 'pink' board is going up really fast and the 'green' board is forming up the walls in wetter areas such as bathrooms.

But the biggest news is that we have plaster! Bloke starts on Tuesday so all of a sudden the site needs a dozen decisions about various things lol

Mistakes happen (and construction contracts are full of remedies).

Hope you didn't have to pay over the odds for it.

Builder got it the day after production restarted which is amazing. All covered in his quote so don't care if he paid over the odds although I very much doubt it lol

Work currently about 2 weeks behind which is fantastic all considered

That's great considering the hiccups along the way. :dbgrtmb:

I think so! I noticed they hadn't built the porch over the back door and sent a snottogram to the builder this morning.. he just wrote back saying they had to wait until the scaffolding was down and out the way. He was very polite with his idiot client lol
