        Hi @Scotty2088 ,

A more common one is " Abracadabra " , but I think that is more of a creamy yellowish stripe.
You have really to decide which of the two it is as you can tell the colour better in real life than we can in a photo.

@Scotty2088 your picture of the rose looks to be dark red and white. Abracadabra is dark red and yellow.

I thought the same but the rose owner confirmed it was a taken long after it had bloomed and the colour faded.

Hmmm, sorry I'm sceptical as to that reply. The flower doesn't look to be fading and I would expect it to hold it's colour until almost dead or dropping petals.

Yep, I agree with Sheal and KFF, I really, really don't think the Rose is "Abracadabra". The only Rose I know that will change colour is "Masquerade" but all other Roses tend to hold their colour until leaf drop. The trouble is that I've seen that Rose up close in the last 12 months and, for the Life of me, I can't remember where or what the name of the Rose is. I might be going to visit a Commercial Rose Grower soon, whose a friend of mine, to look for another Climbing Rose so I'll ask him.

                    This is an odd one.

Some sellers list it as a HT. Which everything points to. It is listed as JACbute.

Another list's it as Masquade. Fl.

Internet search provides several phots of the former wherin it can be seen various colour shades.

I grew Masquade back in the 1960's. From its introduction around 1949 it proved very popular in parks and gardens.

Well, this is ", Masquerade", Mike, which is a Climbing Rose and I've had one for over 40 years.

I can't find a Rose JACbute nor one called Rose Jacobite but the white Rose below is the type
                    of Jacobite Rose.

Looks good Amandii. I noticed that Styles sell the climbing version of Masquade. Checking on Abracadababra. In Modern Roses Xl It listed it ad said See-JACbute. Here the description is given. Anyway our friend now confirms the name.

I am having a really bad time of late with my roses. I am convinced it is all these cats around here.

I wonder if my face lights up when I come across old roses from the past. Similar to another favourite of mine, Fuchsias. Each year we see so many new additions and sadly many don't stay around long, yet many of the older names seem to have been with us since the year dot.

The Irises are doing very well.

I think the greatest problem we have when trying to identify flowers of any colour are the colour setting of (a) the camera and (b) the colour settings of the computing displaying the image, just look at the vast difference in colours in all the images of this particular rose. I have to say I still have reservations and do not think the original rose in question is Abracadabra. As I have said before to really, confidently, identify a flower then we need to see it face to face. I'm struggling at the moment to identify some of the Bearded Iris that have just flowered as they open, change shape and either lighten or deepen in colour.:wallbanging:
