    Hi,

I've a border of Primroses from my winter display. Is it possible to lift them, pot them in 9cm pots and store them for autumn?

Yes it is! I would take the opportunity to split them, check for any nasties on the roots, and plant them deepish in some nice compost. Just keep them in a bit of shade and water well. I would use larger pots since small ones dry out very quickly.

@CarolineL Thanks for your reply. Would you clean as much soil off as possible to check the roots? I can understand bigger pots, I'll see what I've got, but it's the space lol.

well if the roots drop off with the soil, then you know there's a problem! Seriously, I just mean have a look for vine weevil grubs (white, disgusting). If you find some, then it is worth shaking the soil off - the grubs will be eaten by birds. As for space, maybe a large trough would be more efficient - plastic ones from Home Bargains or similar are cheap, and you could line them all out with more depth of soil.

Hi @CarolineL , Thanks for your reply. Yeah I'll closely look at the root balls to see if there are any weevils. That's a good idea about using a trough, I'll get someone to get me one. Thanks
