      Hi,

Sounds good, but did you check the detail ?

Do not think many folk would be keen to give such key personal details like NI or Passport numbers and Income to a commerical entity that they say they need to know.
Have a look at the application form -
      https://wavelength.org.uk/wp-conten...-Difference-Radio-Heroes-Application-Form.pdf

Most older folk will likely still have MW or FM radios which still broadcast most BBC and a good selection of commerical stations. Still no date for cutting FM off in favour of DAB, and probably not for many years yet.

Had a quick look, not a good look,it has over 3000+'s and is reputable site, but i agree there's stuff I wouldn't give out, maybe not such a good deal after all.

Personally I find FM better than dab.

Most of the DAB stations I have found are mainly commercial ones which just play a bit of music between ads!!!:frown:

All the BBC channels are there, just might be hard to find, must admit that FM is a lot easier to use then DAB in finding the channels, also I have noticed that when you do use DAB (in the car) then when you switch from one station to the next then there's almost a 10 second delay

DAB is fine in the car , however when someone offers a free radio -that's too good to be true , looks like phishing to me , I would steer clear .
No one should be asking for the detailed information they ask for

I feel some negativity toward me from some for this post, I wasn't going to answer but the insinuation that I was leading some people into being scammed has prompted this reply, this was posted originally on hotukdeals, a reputable site, and given a + by over 3 thousand people (+ being a positive for the deal), I would imagine the details you give will be to verify that you are eligible for the offer, if someone questions the offer I get that, if someone takes it personally I get that too, if someone wants to show that this is a scam I will hold my hands up and unreservedly apologise.
A link to there site (and just in case I don't have anything to do with them), take look at the work they do.

Hi Mazambo, nothing personal in my post , I am just very suspicious of anything like this , elderly people are easily taken in by such things , I am just advising extreme caution. There are many instances of legitimate sites on the net being copied and used for phishing. Emails ,adverts and false news articles purporting to be from respectable sources are commonplace these days .
I have just paused this reply and searched online , found this :
Kent Police is warning people of a coronavirus scam circulating via text message which tells ... From Monday, anyone can nominate someone for a free radio by completing an online application form at : abbreviated wavelength link due to forum constraints
                  Regards Bob

@Bob Cedar I hundred percent agree on the scams that are around, I personally never answer calls, texts or emails unless i know who they are from and I'm aware of scam websites, but sticking to the post I made you said
So I'll stand by my previous statement

I think we are both of like minds here Mazambo , I tried the official tel number taken off the net but it was not answered , just went to an un-named recorded message , so it is now up to individuals to check it out for themselves .

Just to put paddle to water, Why is it that being out in the sticks as I am; we can only pick up Asian network channels on these DAB fancy toys? If anything I shall stick to my faithful Panasonic which has served me well for the past 35 yrs or so. 27897_1_.jpg
