        Scampi in the old days (1980's) :pathd: was monk fish tails, not spam as the emoji suggests, but the correct, right and proper fellow is launguestine (i am willing to be schooled on the proper spellin), or more commonly know asvthr arh be jesus, Dublin bay prawn, yes I been drinking, sorry Armandii, I never invited you once again, onecday I will :ccheers:

          Yeah well monkfish is pretty expensive these days.
          Cant imagine it was or is that?

          The old seafood stalls do sell langoustine as scampi, but again its pretty expensive bearing in mind we export most of it for some reason.

          I think the old scampi in breadcrumbs is probably just some minced up mash.:smile:

          My daughter makes vegan 'smoked salmon' out of slices of carrot and smoked garlic and it tastes O.K., not the reaction I was expecting as I eat lots of real fish, much of which I catch myself.

          P.S. Mrs Scrungee was filling in a survey a couple of days ago and went to describe me as a pechatarian, but it got auto corrected to pervert.

            Apparently the EU have restated their negotiating intentions - level playing field; ECJ jurisdiction and full access to our fishing grounds.

            Looks like a WTO deal.

            The cheek of it, a French Minister has also said that the UK is too weak to deal with a WTO deal - a rallying call to the Brits. Buy British :dbgrtmb:.

                Monk fish has only been sort after recently, 2000's, before that it was used as a mincer for fishcakes etc

                  Dont know if anyone else has tried vegan cheese, its rank, its like the cheapest of cheap cheese slices, the stuff thats tastes and looks like fibreglass when its melted
