Help! We have been growing tomatoes for years but haven't experienced this, the tops and growing tips are mutating and stopping growing....

Just wonder if its contamination with weedkiller.
Toms react very badly to the slightest amount, even if you keep in a bottle/packet in the greenhouse

Does look like weedkiller damage. It could be contaminated compost or inadvertently spraying near by and drifting on to the plants.

We are organic! And they are in pots in a polytunnel away from any arable land. Is very odd. The compost is new and organic from the garden centre. The muck is old and the yard don't spray. It's a mystery....thanks for answering

        Yes it did.
I think you need to check, some where along the line, organic or not, something is going wrong.

How tall are the plants and when did this first show?
I assume they grew well to start with, if so that would rule out a problem with the compost I would think.

        I might add...

My tomatoes are looking very similar and it’s most likely caused by the organic (bagged) manure that was added to the compost mix. It’s also affected some of my veg outside. The weed killer you might want to look into is Aminopyralid.

Mine were ok at the start Pete.

I agree with Freddy, I had this same problem with bags of compost labelled 'organic'. Aminopyralid is often used on grasslands where horses graze, it gets into farm yard and stable manure. It is very persistent and only a tiny trace causes tomatoes to grow distorted.

Or in the hay they’re fed with.
