What's Looking Good in July 2020

The seeds for these plants did not have the latin name on the packet. They just called it Easter Egg Plant. At first I thought the wrong seeds were in the pack but lo and behold...

 

Hi @CanadianLori those are impressive! Aren't they a white form of aubergine/egg plant

 

@CarolineL I have no idea if they are related or even edible. Certainly is unusual... let me see if I can find the description.
Aha, should have looked at this first. Wonder why they don't put that on the packet?! Still doesn't say if edible. Anybody know?

Wow, that's a seriously nice plant Good looking and fun- ticks all my boxes. Apparently it's Solanum ovigerum

You may need to start building cages before the bunnies hatch

 

Apparently some people do eat them and there are some recipes that include them. However they are supposed to be quite tasteless and have low nutritional value. Whatever you decide the good thing is that they are not poisonous.

 

Thank you @Upsydaisy and @Selleri - yes, glad they are not poisonous but no, I won't be cooking them. I bought the seeds because it looked like a hinky type of plant and I do like quirky stuff. I got what I paid for
