Just had an update from the vets and Dotty is doing well, she's got a pet vest on instead of having a cone, been to the toilet and has got fluids and pain relief and her wound is looking Ok. She's not eaten any thing but they didn't expect her to

I tried to ring this evening but it went through to an emergency line so will ring up in the morning.

Really missed her today. I'm wondering if she will be in until Friday.

Wagging her tail is a good sign. :) The vet may release her late tomorrow. In my past experience they like to make sure that the patient is doing all the usual things before release, eating, urinating normally etc.

Yeah I thought the tail wagging was a good sign too. I don't mind her being in there incase anything bad happens but I do miss her. They said 3 days recovery as she had a small section of intestine removed, so there is a risk that it can rupture which could then result in blood poisoning etc etc. They said first week after surgery is the danger time.

It's like having a part of you missing isn't it? I haven't had a dog for a long time, my last one was such a monster I said no more, but even now I miss having one. Dotty's going to have a quiet and pampered life for the next week. :)

Ha ha Quiet and pampered....the same as usual then. :heehee: She is the Lady of the Manor. It is like having a limb missing. She follows me in and out of every room. Sits on the foot stool directly infront of me in the evening. Even though we have Bea our walk tonight was strange...we didn't have to keep stopping and telling Dotty to hurry up and stop sniffing everything lol

She's as devoted to you as you are to her. :)

It's funny you should say that. I was skyping (video call) with my son the night before last and the door to the room he was in was open. In the background I could see my daughter-in-law walking backwards and forwards along their hallway. Apparently she and my son are on a health kick and counting steps. With every passing of the doorway Loki one of their dogs was pacing behind her. It looked so funny especially as he's a big dog, the turns at the ends of the hall must have been difficult.

Aww bless em! :doggieshmooze: They are such funny creatures. I'm always mindful that they exist for only a small amount of time in our lives, but we are all of their lives. :wub2:

I hope it was the poor light; as I was going up the drive in the early half light with three of my cats, I saw another cat watching us. It looked like Boycat but he was with me..I hope it was just Stinkertom although it did not look like him at that distance. .. There are you see no other cats on the island and six including one owned elsewhere is enough! OH DEAR!

Yesterday took Berry for his booster, hubby was allowed in waring a face mask but i had to wait outside. Didn't take long he put on half a kg, vet said that it was fine but we've cut down a bit on treats.

Ah OK. It was Stinkertom; I just rarely see him sitting up like that and he has much more white on his chest than I realised. Sweet relief!
