    :doggieshmooze:Aww thank you !

I've just got off the phone to the vets and Dotty is coming home today! Picking her up at 5 and we can't wait!:hapfeet:

They had to take her catheter out and the vet said she had quite a "tantrum" that they had to give her a sedative to get it out properly, but she is ok now bless her. She has probably had enough of being prodded etc.

Cannot wait to get her back.:hapydancsmil:

Next thing is waiting for the biopsy results. They said about a week so next Tues or Weds I assume. :fingers crossed:

        My big baby is home...

She's a huge incision wound down the centre of her tummy. I won't share the pic as it's put you off your dinner.

        so pleased she is home

Got a couple of comedians visiting most days, not mine and I dont think they live together but here they are.
            DSC_0346.JPG

I've named them Butch and Sundance, Butch has been around for years, Sundance appeared a couple of months ago, I reckon he's less than a year old.
They just seem to get on well together.

Love the names. They are both gorgeous, but then I am biased. Butch is a stunner. Cats are good company ... and you don't need to walk or bathe them. Enjoy them when they visit ... they are good listeners. :cat-kittyandsmiley:

:ideaIPB: You could always get a rescue dog ... :doggieshmooze:

Yeah, thought about a rescue dog, but the main things that put me off are first you dont know what bad habits it might have picked up and second, what would be the life span?

It's something you take a chance on. If they immediately come up to you and not you to them, they have chosen you. :doggieshmooze: Even if you have a shorter time together than you expected, there's a special memory of the time you had.

You are still young enough ... go for it!

Another vote for rescue dogs! I'm now on my third retired racing greyhound, Tiger who came to me just before lockdown. Each of them came from our wonderful local greyhound adoption kennels, who go to a lot of trouble to match you with the right dog and support you afterwards as required. They've carried on rehoming through the pandemic, by appointment and doing homechecks via Zoom.

All my three greyhounds came to me aged four, which is their typical retirement age. Usual life expectancy 12-14, so hopefully you get many happy years together - certainly Doc my first one made it to 13 1/2. They are wonderful lazy laidback creatures, quite catlike in their ways, won't have lived in a house before but soon learn to love home comforts! Much less work to settle in and train than a puppy....

But - if your heart is set on a puppy, again don't rule out adoption. Dog rescues often have young dogs, and even litters of puppies - Paul O'Grady was playing with a cute litter of Jack Russell crosses in his programme about lockdown at Battersea rescue. Indeed, so cute were they that he ended up taking one home with him!.

I've been doing a monthly d/d to Battersea for years, occasionally put a bit into dogs trust, maybe I need to get more involved.

My girls are rescues but from a hell hole and had lots of problems. Things really settled down after the first 3 months. Once you show them what love is they pay it back 10 fold. :doggieshmooze:
