I was asked that question once when I went into a bank. So I asked if they had a mirror so that I could check. They didn't seem amused! :heehee:

Dear Lori, Carol has already mapped out "her part of the garden", the biggest part but I'm more than happy with my veggie bit, store shed and garage (workshop), don't tell Carol the store shed will be converted into a micro-brewery!

Just a thought...... I'll have a HUGE veggie patch in the field across the road, I'm sure the farmer wont miss a cabbage or lots?

It will be surreal living without constant traffic noise, without light pollution and without the daily urban grind plus the dogs will love it..... Just got to wait before we finally move there, we'll visit regularly until we have some work done, then we'll let it out for 2 - 3 years before we move there permanently.

RAF Coningsby is a rapid response base and regularly "scrambles" to intercept Russian planes getting a bit close. So be aware of the possibility of loud low flying jets from time to time. I'm not sure the current Typhoons are any quieter than Lightnings, Phantoms and Jaguars I grew up with.

This where this oldie is grateful for todays blessings.

Council tenant. Repairs and major maintenance, council's problem. I have gas and electric, cen/heating is gas, otherwise electric. Signs that the trend forward is to turn to electric 100% I have no worries.

Congratulations @Vince and Carol! Lovely part of the world is Lincolnshire (although I would say that being a Lincolnshire Lass). If your dogs try to escape I wouldn't worry-you will see them running away for days as it is so flat!

As shiney mentioned, weve got a heat pump but its not an air system. Its a ground source heat pump system and at a certain system we were able to get a govt grant of about 1k per year, but the incentive is very soon to end unfortunately-unless it gets extended. I can let you know details if you need it. Also if you go for that option, go for the deep system-not the the horizontal kind of system.

You've got Woodhall Spa just up the road from you too! It is beautiful-worth a nice day out. There's a little butchers there who does the best pork pies ever! And lovely Lincolnshire Haslet.

And of course, there's Lincoln to visit which is fantastic. Also youve got skeggy on the coast and the much classier Cleethorpes who do the best fish and chips EVER (not that I'm bias in anyway :rolleyespink:).

I'm really pleased for you. You will love it if you like peace and quiet.

I've just found out that I have a back boiler in the fireplace, un-used for many years so I'll have to check that out. I'll still go with an air sourced heat pump and solar power and being remote, I may invest in a generator for emergencies and any off site work.

Thanks @Snorky85 but I'll give Skeggy a miss, went through there on Wednesday, despite lockdown, it was manic!
