I was rambling on yesterday about our rain fall the last three months and it averaged out at less than an inch a month.
But I think what puts that in perspective from a gardening point of view is its all come in the form of very light showers, so none of it has done anything in regard to adding to the soil moisture.

We had a great thunderstorm last night! The lightening was something to be seen. It's certainly gone somewhat to clear the air. I can feel a breeze :phew: yesterday the humidity was dreadful. My garden should be a little bit happier today :blue thumb:

Threatened to rain around midday with a few rumbles of thunder but all we got was 20mins of light rain, even that was the first for 3 weeks.

Dry and hot in April and May, wet and cold in June and July. Now back to dry and sunny since the start of August. Summer has arrived and is forecast to stay dry here in Scotland for the best part of the next two weeks.

Here in Eastbourne its been the the most dry I have ever experienced in the 20yrs I've lived in his house. I'm afraid the cat might disappear down the cracks in the lawn that started to appear late April. Not had one single thunder storm yet which suits me coz even at my age I'm terrified of thunder. Had 2 reasonably short lived down pours that did absolutely nothing yesterday apart from the neighbours looking at me like I was stark raving mad coz I just went out and stood in it. :heehee:

Yesterday when our one and only ( so far) short spell of rain arrived we were sitting out on our patio having a cuppa. We just stayed out enjoying the refreshing feel of it , the parasol shielded us a bit, but it was lovely!!
