First time growing carrots in builders buckets, sown in June, kept covered in fleece, watered and fed from bottom, thinned out a few times, checked over once every couple of weeks, positioned beside a Jasmine, gets sun for about 6 hours a day, all seems to be going well, pulled one from each bucket yesterday, looks ok, no sign of carrot root fly (not sure what I am looking for though), washed and eaten raw, nice mild taste, crisp to bite. But there are loads of really tiny white bits in the buckets, not on the carrot tops. Is this something to be concerned about please?

    Thanks
    Tink

Can't see clearly on my phone but think you carrots have green fly.
    It's probably the shed skins.

Thanks @pete for the advice, haven’t had greenfly problems this year, will give them a good check over at my next inspection.

Here we have had blackfly issues, mainly with the chives and peas/beans, have just been using the washing up water technique to deal with that. Can I do the same for greenfly on the carrots if I find them on the carrot tops do you know?

If it is green fly, yes you can use washing up liquid.
