20200919_170646.jpg I'm still not 100% sure I want another dog but we'll see how it goes.

Great looking dog, and well done on rehoming, rather than buying from a puppy farm, a bit of time, you gonna have the best friend ever. Me I have 4 dogs, all rehomed ones, a Husky from Bristol, A Raternero Bodeguero from Spain, and 2 Heinz 57 from Romania.

I must admit, I do home checks for a dog charity, so my opinion is a little biased.

Thanks everyone for your replies, we've seen him today and he's a lovely friendly dog but has serious issues with other dogs, he sees red as soon he sees another dog and the dog's home have said if we have neighbour's with dogs (which we do) then we most probably get a lot of complaints because he will be incessant with his barking. I probably would have taken him on and worked with him 10 years ago but I haven't got that mental or physical strength anymore so we've had to walk away which itself has been quite upsetting.

Oh dear, that is a shame - however, if it is not the right dog for you, then much as it is upsetting to walk away, it is still the best thing to do. Too many folk will take on a dog that they cannot cope with and it ends up bouncing back to the home.

I knew an elderly lady who took on a very nice laid back retriever she walked it with no problem, unfortunately the lovely dog had problems and died at a young age.
She then got a much smaller dog from the rescue centre, and to be honest it was a total pain, she couldn't cope with it on walks as it just reared up at any other dog it saw.

Which is why I'm really unsure about taking on rescue dogs.

Its far better to leave this dog, and find a more suitable dog, rather than take him on, then have to move him on again later. Too many make this desicion too quickly, and a dog moving to repetative owners does more harm than good.
