    Hi

I have a lot of bamboo along parts of my hedge, I find the advantage is that it doesn't get out of hand so I don't have to cut it back like a wild hedge, I wanted to propagate some, can this be done or is it a kind of tuber underground growing thing which needs digging up please.

I'm not sure if this applies to all bamboos but the one's I've had I've split them in spring which entails digging them up and basically chopping or sawing them into the desired pieces then replanting, that said mine were in pots but the same idea.

They have underground runners that you can chop off with a spade, get a piece with a growing point and plenty of root and plant that.
