    Mrs Scrungee uses Google Fit.

It's free (my favourite price), but will ask you for your weight, height, etc., and calculate how many calories you've used in addition to how far you've walked, run (or 'cycled').

You can review details of each individual walk, including with your route on a map.

If you walk 'too fast' it may think you've bought a bicycle!

A good old military pace stick is what you need. This is what put the great into Britain!
P.s. How far could you walk without tripping over the blooming thing!

:yikes: No! No! No! You can get a bad case of RSI using one of those over a distance

            I downloaded Google fit.
Can't work out what you have to do to get it to work.
Lots of info about heart rate and steps, but how the hell does it know what my heart rate is or how many steps I take.
            Seems a bit pointless.
Just does nothing other than showing calories which I can't see how it knows that.

I just installed it and went for a walk to the bottom of the garden and it said I'd walked 138 steps/0.1 kilometre.

There is a way of viewing routes on a map, but that 'walk' may not have been far enough. Selecting + and then Track Workout/walking should force a map route on screen.

Well I played around with it for quite a while, had this round circular ring most of the time, thought clicking on that might do something but it just did nothing.
              Its not exactly user friendly.
I'll give it another go, but its not really how many steps I want to know, lets face it, going up hill my steps are a lot shorter than going down or on the flat, I'm really looking for distance covered.

Dog was on lead and pulled Mrs Scrungee along after a Squirrel.

GoogleFit identified that activity as 'Wind Surfing'.
