Can't help think the more you test the more positive results you are going to find, now it was stated at one point that you couldn't get tests down here because lots of the testing had been moved up north in response to the outbreaks up there.

Just suggests to me if you put in lots of testing you will get lots of positive tests where ever you do it.

I'm still wondering if those people who have so called mild symptoms actually have something different that is a corona virus but not the virus.

Who says vaccination is not going to be mandatory?

      Just watched a video
British army on Birmingham streets door to door (Covid) tests. I feel confused and scared why to use the army in this situation. Could anyone living in Birmingham clarify the situation?

This reminds me a recent outcry amongst Finnish health care workers when it was made mandatory for anyone working in patient care to have the full set of vaccinations of the national vaccination programme.

There is a religious sect in western Finland with a wider "health conscious" hang around club who strongly oppose any vaccinations, and the discussion was full of stories of nurses who were battling with their conscience on whether to take the jabs or resign.

Then the measles epidemy broke out in that region of Finland and it became painfully clear that nobody wants an unvaccinated nurse to look after a child going through cancer treatment etc.

All vaccinations carry a risk, but if the benefits are even nearly as good as what we have seen with other vaccinations, I'd push for them to be at least very strongly recommended.

If the common cold, which would be increasing at this time of year, was contributing towards our DECREASING numbers of recorded infections in this area, that would be a load of nonsense, to put it politely.

The stats are rubbish, if we stopped all testing tomorrow I could guarantee we would have no new cases tomorrow.
          Pandemic over.

Just taking it to it enth degree, but statistics based on testing are pointless unless you test exactly the same amount of people in every area every day.

On that basis, if you keep trying to reason with fools, you will get correct answers.

Fair point - however, as the cases in your area are decreasing, what will your reaction be to further restrictions being imposed next week, as is currently being suggested? The response that we are seeing is not corresponding to the statistics and other information going around.

I supppose it is mainly lifestyle
I am an oldie ex-shielding, I would quite happily take my own precautions, and let the rest of the people get on with a normal life
My lifestyle, I do not go to busy public places,, and just do a weekly shop at a quiet time, though recently it has been home delivered groceries

Of course all vaccinations carry a risk, but that is a balanced risk against the benefits that they offer - but, it has to be borne in mind how long they are normally tested for (10-15 years is apparently about the norm) which gives some degree of reassurance.

Likewise, I agree on vaccinations being mandatory in the healthcare setting - it goes with the job, in the same way that my industry has to follow drug and alcohol rules that are far stricter than you would get from the police, but to have a situation where regardless of your job you have to be vaccinated or you won't get paid??? Seriously - when did employers start owning their staff?

Am I the only one that this scares the beejeezus out of?

Sounds aussie, a mate of mine said he wouldn't want to live there, after a 3 month tour, they want to have too much control over you in all aspects of life.

                        112.1 per 100,000 as a percentage is 0.1121%

To put this in perspective if you went to a high street that had say 1,000 shoppers, at least one would have Covid.

That's one hundred times the chance of being murdered p.a.in England :yikes:

Or putting it another way, if the London stabbing rate was the same as the Richmond Covid rate, there would be 10,000 stabbings a day in the capital :yikes: :yikes:
