Strange orange ‘eggs’

Can anyone tell me what the odd orange ‘eggs’ are that have appeared on the blades of grass on my lawn. Never seen them before

 

It could be the fruiting bodies of a fungus.

Looks as if it may be rust. Or lawn rust disease, its a bit uncommon, but if the ground around the orange invaders is soft, almost cushiony, then it maybe this, you can find more details on the RHS website.

 

Sorry can't say what they are but I've seen them before whilst out walking

 

@J dyer If they are now gray then that would definitely indicate a fungus. The gray being the actual spores.

Just spotted this question.
Fascinating.... never seen that before...so researched it.
According to RHS it turns out to be slime mould.
Seen slime mould several times but never like yellow insect eggs on blade of grass.
Well well.

Apparently they can move up grass blades at night...see 2nd link.
