Show Off Your Pets 2020

Got an appointment with the head vet at 3:50. DOtty needs a blood test to check liver function following her op so hoping this can shed some light. When they took a liver biopsy they said it was strangely discoloured but not typical of cancer and the results came back all clear. I know we shouldn't read stuff online but I am wondering if she has liver failure (I know I shouldnt diagnose), but the fact they said her liver was strangely discloured in patches and her weight loss, lethargy and lack of apetite and her odd behaviours (going very stubborn and standing still refusing to move) apparently can all be signs.

Today she has had a bit of yoghurt and honey and had a bit of buttered toast (she wouldn't eat any of the small bits of toast I gave to her, but preferred to take the whole slice to nibble at LOL.

I had to get her out of bed about 11:30am as she hadn't budged. She still wont go outside to the toilet (it is pouring down though) and she has just slept all day (and has been pumping more than usual! lol)

She's snoring her head off now, bless her.

Blood test showed her albumin count was a bit low which means she could have a liver problem. She has to go in early in the morning to have a liver scan etc and she'll be there for the day.

Currently snoring her head off...again

Thank you. She went in this morning and had liver and stomach scans etc and all looked ok. Had xrays too and they just showed a bit of an issue with her back and they wondered if it was back pain. So the specialists will have a look at the scans and let us know. Also had a more detailed blood test of her liver to check that. However, poor dotty....she had three bouts of explosive diarrhoea! My goodness I'm glad I didnt have to clear that up! The poor vets!!

She's got antibiotics, prebiotics and some omeprazole for her tummy. She ate a couple of human biscuits tonight and some ham...which is better than nothing. Poor gal is shattered now.

 

Awww bless her, she looks as if she's had a bit of a day. Keeping my fingers crossed that the results are all good and that things settle back down on their own accord.

 

Oh heavens @Snorky85 I hope she starts feeling better soon. I'm adding my good vibes to @Upsydaisy 's. So terribly sad!

@Snorky85 Poor Dotty, i hope that she feels better soon. I'd give her anything that she will eat but bare in mind that it could give her the runs.

 

Sending hugs from here too. She has not had a good time of it so thankfully she has you looking after her.

 

She's a bit better this morning thanks. Seems a bit brighter and more alert. Had a second dose of tablets so hopefully once that's getting in her she will start to improve.
She's had a couple more human biscuits with her medicines. Drinking ok and had a wee.

dotty update: still not 100%, toilet is not great despite having that pro-kolin gunk thats supposed to help. She scoffed a plate of chicken on saturday (even though shes not really supposed to eat chicken) and sunday she didnt want anything. She ate half a human biscuit then didnt want it.

she has been perkier and was excited to go for a walk but on the way back she kept stopping.

managed to get a wee sample from her this morning and will take it to the vets later.

i just wish i could help her. I'm not sleeping and had a bad migraine yesterday as I'm so sad by it all and feel helpless. i keep wondering if she has dementia. Just making Her a chicken broth to see if that helps
