    Hi,

I'm looking at insulating my 6 x 4 greenhouse with bubble wrap. I'm aware of the screw in pins that slide in the metal groves to attach the bubble wrap to, but what do you use for where there are no groves like the end corners, door, etc?

On my door end I have a double layer attached to the roof, so I can pull them to one side to gain access. Maybe you can use canes to prop the bubble wrap up in the corners. Use a bit of silicon to glue a few bits in place, it pulls off in the spring when I take it all down.

If it is clear polycarbonate panes, be careful not to get the silicone on the panes.

I used bubblewrap a couple of winters. The stuff meant for greenhouses that is flat both sides. But I have found that using the windòw film inside works a bit better and it is clear. By window film, I mean the stuff that is double sided taped to the frame and then a hot hair dryer shrinks it to be as tight as a drum.

        Hi,

There are waterproof tapes and double sided sticky tapes you can use, but they are not the best at holding things on to the metalwork for long, plus if they do, they can soon discolour and go brittle and can be messy to remove in Spring.

Think we would get some small timber battens and velcro them to those plain greenhouse corners etc and then pin the bubble wrap to that, so very easy to put up and remove.

You could use cheaper builders silicone if you want them to stay up all year, though still removable with a thin blade if needed, unlike the No Nails stuff which is way too strong.

Another way that would suit your smaller greenhouse is to use the timber battens and make a complete inner frame, if you are feeling handy..

Suggest you use the 20 or 25mm bubble rather than the small ones as they do hold the heat much better.

Sorry, I'm just back, as I've had computer issues. That's for your replies. I've put 3 bamboo canes in the roof and ran bubble wrap over & down the sides, which has worked out fine.
