Adopting a dog

Well, apparently this is his sister:



As @Mike Allen rightly says, it matters not a jot - he is our wee bundle of joy (and absolutely full of beans!) - been up with him most of the night as he has a bit of a cough, but as he is otherwise fine we are not going into full paranoid parent mode just yet. I am going to put on one of those misting air fresheners today with the minutest amount of lavender oil in it and see if that helps in case the air indoors is a bit dry for him.

 

Romanian nut-job if this morning is anything to go by..... I've had both my ears washed, twice, and been used as a braking buffer as he flew into the kitchen at full tilt... I think it is fair to say he has found his confidence.

 

Sadly not, she is taken - I was offered yet another rescue last night, a gorgeous young lad, but I cannot afford him. Nice they think so much of us to offer another so soon though!

Today, we started to conquer the fear of outside, and even managed a little bit of zoomie time in the garden, as well as being a really brave big boy and going to the toilet outside for the first time. Not bad for four days in...

Then, after following me around most of the day whilst I did housework, it was mountaineering time....

 

Not a chance - no point having a sofa if there isn't a dog to share it.

 

He is actually really good that way to be honest - we've taught him 'NO' quite quickly and always give him the correct alternative, so he knows what he can and can't do. Early days, but he is doing really well. My shoes and a feather duster were targets on day one, but now they get a sniff and he moves on.

 

He couldn't give a monkeys - there were a couple of bangs that raised an eyebrow, but other than that he was fine. We kept him occupied, playing with him, and kept the TV a bit louder as well just in case, but the contrast with Smudge was remarkable
