No, they rescued his sister who has more terrier traits in her than he does:

This morning we both went to the dentist to have our teeth cleaned with the hygienist. As always when we get ready to go out barley and berry rush around the house. When we came back found that barley was limping with his back leg, he must have done it when he was running around.
Through the day it wasn't getting any better so at 5.30pm called the vet to see if we could get a appointment for tomorrow, they were fully booked. Hubby was asked if it was a emergency, hubby said no not really. The woman said see if it gets any better if not come on Saturday morning, on Saturdays it's a open surgery but it's first come first served. It's a new practice for us i hope that it's not going to be like that all the time.

Aww poor Barley. Hope he is better after a nights rest. Bea often gets excited and dives about (over the back of the sofas, spinning around, up and down the stairs) and ends up with a limp where she's over done it, but usually ok after a day or two. Hope Barley recovers the same xxx

Thank you @Snorky85 he was a bit uncomfortable last night but he's slightly better, it doesn't stop him from jumping about and trying to mount berry.

Glad that Bea doesn't hurt herself too badly, they can be so silly when they do anything like that, i think that they should have more sense.
              Thanks xx

Hope Barley just has a strain from silliness @Logan :doggieshmooze:

That has been normal procedure at our Vets for as long as I can remember and we've been with them for 18 years.

Thank you and yes he should be ok have to take him on shorter walks.

Our other vets were the same but it was getting too far to get to them having to go through heavy traffic in the mornings, so we changed to one that's in Redditch, but i think that we were spoilt we could get a appointment for the next day or sometimes on the same day, have to see how it goes I think.

Thank you @Victoria yes it was, he's a lot better, but this morning hubby went out to do the shopping and as usual barley was excited and jumped up at the door, as he got down he ripped his claw off on his front paw. He started crying and holding his leg up, i thought that he twisted his leg and then the blood started coming out all over the place because he was still moving around. I stopped him and got a towel under his paw and wrapped it around it. Phoned hubby he came back because it was 7am he called the emergency vet and he told us what to do. it's stopped bleeding and he has to have a sock put on with 2 small plastic food bags tied on with a stretch bandage to keep them on.He didn't like that at first then he got used to it, i think have to see what he does this afternoon at 2 pm for the next walk.

Aww poor Barley. Hope he is ok now. Not sure whether his claw had fully come off or just cracked low, but when I accidentally cur my dogs claw too low the vet said to use cornflour to stop the bleeding-I guess it thickens/clogs up the blood to stop it.

Been a hard day for Fletch - out for a walk in the morning, and then two baths (immediately went digging in the garden before he was even dry from the first bath!) followed by lots of housework and fixing things disrupting his peace. All quiet now....

Thanks @Snorky85 and @Fat Controller the claw had come off completely by the pad i have got some sort of yellow powder for that sort of thing, I could only do it once, it was very sore. I've just managed to clean it with some Epson salts and water, got some cotton wool and dabed it with the solution, he was very good about it.
He doesn't seem bothered about it now, he's sleeping now.

Oh yes - we generally get a couple of spells of 'puppy pandemonium' in a day, but in fairness he is otherwise no trouble at all. Sleeps through the night without any problem - wakes us up at half six without fail :heehee: and we are almost (almost) there with the toilet training.
