      Agree with upsydaisy.
      Probably Helleborus x hybridus.
Next year look out for the flowers.
When you see the flowers, cut the old green leaves off right back to the ground.
They will grow new fresh leaves.

Yes they're hellebores, they should start flowering in early Spring or early in the new year, it all depends on where you live.

Definitely seem to be hellebores.

We have about a thousand of them (shall dig some up and sell them for charity - when I get around to it) but none in bloom yet

Well, I haven't looked since last weekend :noidea: so had better look today. Although I know the foetidus will be in bloom.

My older ones have been in bloom for a month now @shiney .
I dug up a lot of our Foetidus a couple of years ago, still have some though , not sure if it's blooming yet as I didn't check out that part of our garden yesterday.

@Upsydaisy we cleared out about 100sq ft area of foetidus a couple of years ago but kept the ones that had sown themselves around the garden. They look good through the winter.

The others tend not to bloom much until at least February.
